Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

South Dakota's attorney general reported hitting a deer Saturday night but actually hit and killed a man whose body wasn't discovered until the next morning, the Department of Public Safety said Monday morning. Ravnsborg, a 44-year-old from Pierre, was driving a sedan westbound on U.S. Highway 14 on Saturday night. He told the Hyde County Sheriff's Office that around 10:30 p.m. he hit a deer a mile west of Highmore. Ravnsborg has a history of speeding, the Argus Leader reports.

Was it actually a Satyr or a Faun he hit? The sad death of the pedestrian should not be swept under the rug. Let's see how 'law and order' the governor actually is...

He knew he hit something because of the damage to his car the next morning. In truth, he was drunk and had no idea about what happened. That is my suspicion.

Logical deduction. And there is no doubt that unless he called 911 at the time of the crash, he should be charged for leaving the scene of a property damage accident at minimum if he did not verify what he hit was indeed a deer - something he obviously didn't do.

And of course, they can go back and talk to attendees and staff at the dinner and find out how many (if any) alcoholic drinks he was served over what period of time and then calculate the range of his BAC.

This will unfairly be counted as another Sturgis COVID-19 death by the Libs, to try and hurt me!

By not reporting that he hit a person, he caused that person not to be found until the next morning. That should factor in to possible prosecution.

There's a sad story here where a kid skateboarding home on the side of the road was struck and killed. The driver did a hit-and-run so the teen wasn't found until a jogger went by the next morning. Now his family will never know if he could've been saved. The scene of the accident was in sight of a hospital.

...and if'n it weren't for that sneaker stuck in his
grill, and the meddlesome kids and their dog, he
would have gotten away with it too!

"There's a sad story here"

The sad story is that anyone could believe this guy's ridiculous story.
He's a killer, but then, as AG, that's kind of his job. That, and covering for killer cops.

Was the deer riding a motorcycle?

Anyone who has ever "hit a deer" would stop and look as their car has probably been very damaged.
At least stop and see what they hit.

The chances are extremely high that the attorney general has committed vehicular manslaughter.

@#13 ... Anyone who has ever "hit a deer" would stop and look as their car has probably been very damaged. ...

If he hit a person, but he thought he had hit a deer, was he aware enough to be driving?

If he was not sure what he hit, but presumed it was a deer and did not stop, was he aware enough to be driving?

I grew up in the backwoods. It's IMPOSSIBLE to confuse hitting a person or a dear. ESPECIALLY on a US Highway with the high visibility.

It's also important to note this person was not likely in the roadway when hit. He was likely on the shoulder raising even more questions.

it sure seems like this guy was drunk/high or whatever.

thought he hit a deer?

I don't believe him for a second.

Here's the approximate area where the pedestrian was hit:

Here's a photo of the scene (non-graphic):

Does this look like a place where it would be hard to tell whether you hit a deer or a person?

This will never go to trial. The douchebag will be exonerated by the local DA and the cops will cover up any evidence of wrongdoing. The blue wall must stand. AG lives and freedom matter more.

Pathetic deflection.

Well, Trump is desperate to politicize it.
Harris is a good pick to take the issue off the table.

Some of you peeps lack basic reading comprehension. He called 911 after the crash around 10:30pm and reported hitting a deer. It wasn't until the next day that a body was discovered and they realized the "deer" was a person.

#28 | Posted by Regnum at 2020-09-16 04:13 AM | Reply

If he knew it was a deer he should have stopped to check and put it out of its misery.

Odds are, he knew he'd hit a person
