Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, September 15, 2020

Before being briefed on wildfires Monday, Donald Trump offered wild theories on the causes. Though the wildfires are predominantly on Federal land, he blamed state agencies for failing to carry out sufficient forest management. Then, he declared that fallen trees "just explode."

In Texas countless people are killed each year by exploding trees. Wish we had a president competent to handle them.

If you voted for Trump you're too stupid to understand what you did so why should I bother trying to explain it to you?

Actually.... in Alaska sometimes it gets so cold that old birch will sort of "explode" in the midsection and fall over. Makes a loud cracking noise then ffffffoomph! No fires though... shrugs.

Trumpibuynkerboi doesn't seem to understand that some trees have short life expectancies. They die to provide fertile ground for the younger ones... homes for bugs... ground animals... "cleaning the forest as he recommends would cause even more mass extinctions... he is ignorant.

Leaving in disgrace

'I Don't Think Science Knows': Visiting Fires, Trump Denies Climate Change
www.npr.org

..."We've had temperatures explode this summer. ... We want to work with you to really recognize the changing climate and what it means to our forests and actually work together with that science," said Wade Crowfoot, California's secretary for natural resources. "That science is going to be key because if we ignore that science and sort of put our head in the sand and think it's all about vegetation management, we're not going to succeed in protecting Californians."

"It'll start getting cooler. You just -- you just watch," the president said.

"I wish science agreed with you," Crowfoot said.

"Well, I don't think science knows, actually," he said....

"It'll start getting cooler. You just -- you just watch" ...

Is that like the time when Pres Trump said of COVID-19:

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It's going to be just fine." (Jan 22, 2020)

"It's going to disappear. One day, it's like a miracle, it will disappear." (Feb 27, 2020)

It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes.

Loved that Earthmuse! So sadly true. And it really pisses them off if you tell them that they are stupid because they can't recognized that fact simply because they are so stupid.

"'I Don't Think Science Knows': Visiting Fires, Trump Denies Climate Change "

And there are probably some idiots still posting here who agree with him but the argument is over, there is no debate. Climate change is real and it is here now. Denying it won't make it go away.

Longtime Climate Science Denier Hired At NOAA
www.npr.org

...David Legates, a University of Delaware professor of climatology who has spent much of his career questioning basic tenets of climate science, has been hired for a top position at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration...

Neither Legates nor NOAA representatives responded to questions about Legates' specific responsibilities or why he was hired. The White House also declined to comment....

In 2007, Legates was one of the authors of a paper that questioned previous findings about the role of climate change in destroying the habitat of polar bears. That research was partially funded by grants from Koch Industries, the American Petroleum Institute lobbying group and ExxonMobil, according to InsideClimate News....

Legates also appeared in a video pushing the discredited theory that the sun is the cause of global warming. In testimony before the U.S. Senate in 2014, Legates argued that a climate science report by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change erroneously stated that humans are causing global warming.

Legates is a professor in the Department of Geography and Spatial Sciences at the University of Delaware. He is also affiliated with the Heartland Institute, a think tank that has poured money into convincing Americans that climate change is not happening and that the scientific evidence -- including evidence published by the agency that now employs Legates -- is uncertain or untrustworthy....

@#12 ... He and his Administration represent an EXISTENTIAL THREAT,

To my eye it seems that Pres Trump is slowly turning the federal government into Trump, Inc. No one in Trump, Inc. is allowed to disagree or gainsay anything Pres Trump says or wants to be said.

Pres Trump started with two important departments, State and Justice, installing those loyal to Pres Trump and not the Constitution.

Now that he has bent State and Justice to his will, Pres trump is working on the less important departments.

Soon the entire federal government will be loyal to Pres Trump instead of loyal to the Constitution.

Based upon discussions I've had with a few Trump supporters, they do not seem to mind what is going on for the main reason that Democrats seem to dislike it. Their logic seems to be: if the Democrats dislike it, it must be good for the Country.

'I Don't Think Science Knows'

Science doesn't "know" anything.

The people who took the time to study science and to Educate themselves and to do the hard work necessary for understanding the science of how the universe works... they Know.

They know and they are trying to warn you.
