Scientific American has never endorsed a presidential candidate in its 175-year history. This year we are compelled to do so. We do not do this lightly.

Scientific American's case is so black and white. They lay it out, example after example, and they bring TRUTH to it. Mandatory reading IMHO.

Agreed, yet who in the hell that needs convincing away from Trump actually reads ANYTHING like Scientific American?

Right, Rsty? Who could possibly be undecided at this point? Then again I ask who in their right mind could vote for Trump. I have to step back and realize that there are still, somehow, people that call themselves "undecided." I look at the Latin vote in Florida that had Hillary up 23 points over Trump in 2016, but now they're +3 or +4 for Trump. They're being swamped with the strangest conspiracy theories, too.. On top of all that, both candidates are spending millions and millions campaigning. Bloomberg's dropping 100 M in Florida, too.

Politics is strange stuff!

I'll just go ahead and make the Deplorable counter argument:

This is just scientists trying to stay aboard Al Gore's Democrat Hoax Global Warming Gravy Train.

We should probably look into teaching science in the schools. Instead we can't even teach evolution, probably the most scientifically validated theory to help understand our world that's ever been thought, without it devolving into a --------.

Trump will take us into an era of madness if we don't stop him. It will be the end of American global economic dominance, since high-tech industry firmly grounded in scientific progress is the reason for our dominance.

Then again, Trumpers are fine with ending American global economic dominance.

The GOP is a Death Cult.

Politics is too vital to not keep it insulated from the extremes of the First Amendment.

We all already agree with this to some extent, since everyone can accept that we don't allow electioneering at the polling place.

People just need to expand their understanding of what needs to be protected: Democracy.

And protected from what: Anti-democratic forces, many of whom are foreign nationals.

Elections should not be a safe harbor for bad faith actors.
