A directive that restricted Ohio counties to one ballot drop box in November was arbitrary and unreasonable, a county judge ruled Tuesday, delivering the Republican secretary of state in the presidential battleground another in a series of blows to his policies.

Republicans are scum. They don't appear to care who knows it.

"Cuyahoga must serve more than 860,000 registered voters with only a single drop box under LaRose's order."

If that's not a crime, it ------- should be.

Democracy is being threatened! Where the fnkc are all the DR resident constitutionalists?

As a point of comparison, each Town hall here in Connecticut has a drop box.

It is actual quite useful. I use it to pay local taxes instead of mailing or going to the tax collector office in the building.

They are forcing working people to skip work and give up a days wages to vote.

It's night in Russia so they won't be here for a while.

And note that before this court order, Ohio's Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose was going to allow county election officials, most of whom were also Republicans, to decide if they were going to have even a single drop-off box in their county.

I'm not sure how many drop-boxes total that there'll be here in Orange County California, but I know that in our city of Irvine alone (population 282,000), there's going to be a least 11 drop-off boxes available starting the first day of early voting, which is October 5th. Note that while California still offers the option for in-person voting, ALL registered voters will be automatically mailed an actual BALLOT approximately 30 days prior to the election. And if it's more convenient for the voter to return their ballot by mail, the return postage will have already been prepaid.

It's sad that all Diaper Donnie and the GOP have left is cheating, lying, voter suppression, and voter disenfranchisement. Maybe if they came up with policies that the majority of Americans liked they might be able to win a free and fair election. Instead they insist on pandering to their shrinking base of poorly educated white male voters and white evangelical xtians so that they can hold power in order to make their benefactors, the 1%, richer and the rest of their base poorer and sicker.

To paraphrase something Bill Barr said within the last day or two: if Biden wins, American will forever be a socialist country.

If Barr really believes that, he will stop at nothing to help repubs defeat the dems.

Repubs see the handwriting on the wall. With the demographic changes taking place, they would rather burn the place down than live in a country where shrinking base of white males can't automatically call the shots.

You progressives are REALLY into projection.

It's funny to watch. Pathetic, but funny.

It's funny to watch the party that attempted a soft coup to undo the results of '16 talk about the other side trying to destroy democracy.

The lack of self awareness is hilarious.

What is "soft coup" in the original Russian?

It's funny to watch you pretend that the whole Russian investigation was all just a Dem hoax and they found nothing. Just another hoax. Like the corona virus. All made up to harm Trumpy. And no one was indicted and no one was convicted and no one plead guilty and no one is in prison or was pardoned for colluding or lying or spying. And all the intell agencies are part of the "deep state".

Actually, it's not really all that funny any more comrade.

Are you saying the other side will be as good as destroying Democracy as they were at destroying Obamacare?

Here's some advice:
Past Performance Is No Guarantee of Future Results.

Actually, if you look at their past results from North Carolina and Wisconsin and Ohio, they've been fairly successful at destroying democracy the state level.

And as a possible side note (that will roundly be ignored by the Right),
maybe, just maaaaaaaybe, it is the Right's Message that is being roundly
rejected by the majority of the voters, and is the reason you have to
CHEAT like no tomorrow in order to even be competitive, in venues other than
your super gerrymandered GOP districts...

But hey, you do you...

What possible rationale could there be for limiting dropboxes to one per county (aside from the obvious motivation to reduce participation in more populous areas)? The largest county in Ohio has over 1.3 million people in it, the smallest has 13,000.

" The largest county in Ohio has over 1.3 million people in it, the smallest has 13,000."

That's your rationale right there. Odds are the smaller counties are red.
