Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, September 16, 2020

President Donald Trump ventured from the safe space of Fox News to a considerably more challenging town hall hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night. The switch appears to have been ill-advised.

Trumplings probably loved it. He got all his talking points across.

Trump trying to blame the pandemic response on Joe Biden not being a good president.

The entire town hall was a delightful Trainwreck!

Just A Firehose Of Lying'

"Trump spent the town hall claiming that a "herd mentality" would stop COVID-19 (he was presumably referring to the herd immunity method, which health experts have largely rejected as a solution to the pandemic), falsely denying that he wasn't trying to kill preexisting conditions protections in the Affordable Care Act, and bragging about endorsements from the police when asked about systemic racism in the criminal justice system."

Mental and moral midgetry at it's finest.

Poor Trumpibunkerboi sitting there in front of the world polishing cl0wn turds.

I especially love the part about the ACA... and how the clowns... as always have a better plan... finally... after 12 years... the republicl0wns are ready to prove they have a bett....uh... wait....what... still... huh? Welll... I guess nothing is always better than something.

Is herd mentality part of the Republican platform? Er, I'm sorry, do they have a platform?

JASPER

"I'm sorry, do they have a platform?"

I'm sure they do. But if you saw it, it would make your hair turn gray.

Because the Senate didn't do their job in the impeachment process, they literally ~ yes LITERALLY, gave Trump Carte Blanche to do anything he damned well pleased for the rest of his term.

It's been obvious since then that Trump has been doing some trial runs in preparation for his upcoming "dictatorship" beginning in 2024. (no hyperbole ~ all the red flags are flapping furiously in the wind).

That's the platform.

You can't pick apart the details to nothing.

I imagine Biden will ask Trump, in each of the debates, where that damned WMD...Er....Health care plan is.

A dictatorship aided and abetted by men much smarter than Trump but just as amoral. Interesting that the new version of "Dune" is coming out about now. I wonder if Donald was asked to play Baron Harkonnen?

The GOP platform is to lie cheat and steal as much as they can for the 1% that owns them and piss on the rest of the country.

If they can kill a few hundred thousand poor people in the process so much the better as it means that will be less of them so more $$$ can be used to give to the 1%.

I especially love the part about the ACA

Trampy deep down is a NYC librul on social issues...abortion, welfare, rent subsidies, etc because it all flows back into his pockets. I am confident he wants to sign a massive health care bill that will do everything he says it will but Moscow Mitch and the rest of the Republic*nts won't let him. He won't care if it is not paid for, more debt is fine with him. He won't care if it bankrupts the US so long as it gets him popularity.

Honestly... I don't think Trumpibunkerboi is intelligent enough to be a dictator.

He is too intellectually lazy.

He is more like a hostess for dictators. He does what his mother must have done for his father when entertaining influential friends in order to cozy up for business purposes. The thing is he has no product other than to entertain the actual movers and shakers... polish their turds... seek to impress them... hoping they will stay and spend money getting their turds polished. Nothing else.

The reason he fails at business is simple... his customer base is so very small... the smallest... 1% is a seriously small audience. Jobs, Gates, Bezos all have HUGE customer bases. His product is purposely exclusive... and that only makes it worse.

Agreed. Lazy enough he engenders a debate into the actual meaning of "life".

As dictator, Trump would be a convenient sock puppet manipulated by better men. Like he is now.

I'm sad Der Dotard didn't get to talk more about that beautiful, clean coal that no one is buying anymore. I guess he will get to talk it up in the debates. Meanwhile at the White House and Trump 2020 HQ, there must be terror in the halls over the lack of preparation Bozo T. Clown is willing and able to do for the debates. So long as Diamond Joe shows up on the 29th and has the right amount of caffeine in his system, the Trump Comedy Presidency will certainly see the beginning of its certain, nearby end...

Orange Agent doesn't need to prepare for debates. All he's got to do is lie about anything that comes up and the base will eat it up. Why bother to prepare? Just make ---- up on the spot.

These threads are where I miss our long lost righties.

Watching them scramble to defend Trump and tell us what he really meant (since we can't listen to the man and know what he means ourselves) would have been comedy gold.

They'll be back in force if Trump pulls (cheats) this out.

I despise Trump and his apocalyptic death cult. But, his "town hall" performance was so bad I actually started feeling embarrassed for him. He's not qualified to manage a Dairy Queen.

Trumpcare is Dotard's "Canadian Girlfriend". No one has ever seen her; but trust him, she's HAWT.

Trump won't have 10 minutes to ramble on with word salad in a debate.

Fox News said Donald Trump was "ambushed". The poor thing had to answer questions from regular folk. It was like another Vietnam!

#6 Twinpac, yes, you and I think alike. I'd like to think the most recent and completely overt criminal behavior from Trump & Co. is due to reelection desperation, and as you say also empowerment from the Senate's refusal to throw out an obvious criminal (FAR worse than Nixon) after he was impeached. But a little voice tells me some on the right may not be overly concerned with the election as they are perhaps planning to declare Trump as dictator, regardless of any election result. Is that process happening as I write this post? I am sure many, many are pondering this possibility in a real way, with some of the buzzards in and around his circle posturing for a front seat before the Emperor. This November could be a very frightening time.
