Josh Venable, the former chief of staff to Education Secretary Betsy Devos, has joined another former Trump administration official's group opposing the president. Venable is lending his name as an adviser to the Republican Political Alliance for Integrity and Reform, a group former Department of Homeland Security official Miles Taylor launched on Thursday of current and former Trump administration officials and other Republican leaders who want to see President Donald Trump defeated in November.

It is happening - the sane Republicans from inside Trump World are finally offering their penance for staying silent while serving The Menace.

Taylor, who was chief of staff at DHS, and Elizabeth Neumann, another former senior Trump DHS official, started the group, which includes 26 Republicans, including Anthony Scaramucci, who served briefly as White House communications director. A current senior administration official is also part of the group, but Taylor declined to share that person's name.

Olivia Troye joined the group too, after serving as special adviser to Vice President Mike Pence for homeland security, as well as career roles at the Department of Energy and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in the Bush and Trump administrations.

These people aren't going to change any minds of those head-deep into the Trump cult. But it should resonate with any American who truly hasn't made up their mind or is vacillating between their own internal concerns and weighing differences.

It really shouldn't be that hard for people to internalize the difference and how that difference will dictate the near future - and perhaps far longer - of their lives.

Not wanting to burst your bubble, but...

If the number of defections from the Trump Cult so far represents the "sane Republicans" we are not going to end up in a happy place.

How many of Trump's own people will it take to tell MAGAt's that Trump is conman before they finally believe it? Since we have recordings of him admitting he lied and continues to lie about a virus that has killed 200K Americans and left millions more with ongoing health problems I'm guessing Trump himself could come out and say "don't vote for me. I'm all of the bad things I say about other people" and they would still support him anyway.

Donald Trump is defunding Social Security, if he is reelected SS will be broke within 3 years so get ready to welcome Mom and Dad into your homes, he's planning to destroy Medicare as well so get ready to pay for Mom and Dad's healthcare too. Must only be rich people planning to vote for Trump because it sure doesn't make sense for any average American. If you don't care about anything else beware you will lose your SS if Trump is reelected. Fact!
