In his letter to families on Monday, New York City schools chancellor Richard Carranza revealed the new school year calendar and added: "On 'snow days' -- or days in which school buildings are closed due to an emergency -- all students and families should plan on participating in remote learning."

Don't worry kids, the School Board can't control the weather. There will be a day when no one can even get to school, the electricity will be off and you will have a snow day.

This is just one of what I suspect will be many permanent changes resulting from this pandemic. Many of those changes are yet to be seen as permanent at this point. Those changes will have cascading effects, like how the "space race" enabled the computer revolution, and the fear of nuclear war (ARPANET) enabled the internet.
