Ohhh dear!

Trumpy was forced to face a hostile crowd!

And naturally the egotistical maniac was booed and chanted at.

Don't tell me I can't predict Trumpy's reaction.

Trumpy gonna be sooooooo mad!!

Stand by for some furious toilet tweeting.

Completely disregard courtesy? Funny a Trump supporter would care.

You mean like when Trump led the nation in birtherism?

Or when Trumpublicans chanted "Lock her up!"

Or like now, when Trump is literally saying he's going to ignore the election results?

I doubt RBG cared, she was probably pleased.

But I find your sudden concern for decency, respect, and common courtesy to be quite amusing.

With the way Trump and McConnell are ramming through a right wing crazy Christian extremest replacement for RBG it is entirely appropriate for people to voice their objections to it. Trump should have expected this reaction. Where were his SS troops?

"You know we are living in some dark times..."

Indeedy do da.

Of course these are "dark times".

This is the dark ages of the American Experiment.

This is Trumps vision of what America should look like under his leadership.

Or lack thereof.

This is Trumplandia. At its finest.

I feel bad that it overshadowed RBG, but the man is not the the President of the People.

He won fair and square via the Electoral College, but he's the choice of the majority.

As far as respect, when does he give it? You sow what you seed.

Like announcing he'll name her replacement before her body got cold?

He's going against her direct, express wishes by hurrying up a nomination so he'll have a packed court to potentially overturn the will of the American people via their votes.

THAT's dishonoring her BIGLY!!

BTW, one of his potential SC nominees had something to say about installing SC justices before and election. How it should wait until a new president is inaugurated ... when it could change the political makeup of the court:

What Amy Coney Barrett said (in 2016) about filling a Supreme Court seat in an election year:

Yes. We have come close to this particular kind of dark time before.

Over 100 years ago the 1876 election also tested the Constitution and it also ended our attempts at Reconstruction.

This time however it is very different. And way worse. And this time it may end our attempts at a democratic republic.

We did not learn our lesson then and I doubt we will suddenly see the light now.

Trumpy probably justified the booing (in his head) by making himself believe they were booing at the mask. You will probably see a post or a tweet on that "theory" somewhere by some of his Qanon enablers.

Which will probably be repeated on Fox News.

(The pall bearers)

The law clerks are still standing guard.

The best part of the video of Trump arriving that I watched was the entire crowd that was waiting to see and pay their respects to RBG were the ones that were leaning over the railing chanting at Trump "Vote him out!"

#46 | Posted by YAV at 2020-09-24 03:12 PM | Reply

Donald Trump should be booed when he wakes up in the morning, and then all day the boos should continue. The last thing he should hear before he goes to bed should be a hearty round of booing.

#47 | Posted by cbob at 2020-09-24 03:42 PM | Reply

Even behind the mask I could sense the pain he felt. I know he's a bastard and I would never vote for him but for some reason I did feel a twinge of empathy for his pain even though I know he doesn't deserve it.

I'm afraid I'm too soft hearted for the blood sport of smash mouth politics. At least I know my limitations. Trump deserved that. He has not empathy for anyone. Still he seemed genuinely upset.

So's yours, cynical detachment and rude lack of self awareness. Always seeing surfaces never what's beneath. It must be nice to have such a simple worldview. I can see a bastard's humanity, I care about the collateral damage boycotts cause to innocent people. Ooh,I'm such a deceitful and wrongheaded player.

I must love racists because I see them as human.

They don't have horns and a tail.

Life would be simpler if they did. But that's too inward for someone as one dimensioned and simple as you.

Nope,I just know that they aren't all demons. Life is more nuanced than that. Like it or not we have to live with these types, unless,of course you want to become Yugoslavia,or Rwanda.

If so you better stock up on the ammo and fortify your quarters against attack. The world can go to ---- in a hurry when people lose sight of each other's humanity.

Isn't that what we oppose as non racists?

I'm bad because I see others I disagree with and despise as human beings? It's the only way we are going to survive as a nation.

Civil war, sees everything clearly and simply, through a gunsight.

I never said I "love" racists. That's all your framing fella. I said I see humanity in them and in others I may hate, fear, and disagree with.

I would seem that you are in Snoofy's simplistic camp of good and evil. I've never held that Manichian worldview myself. It's always seemed incomplete and somehow false to me.

But you do you. I can't agree with your conclusions. I don't like being misrepresented, that's not arguing in good faith.

I hate racial thinking and actions.

I don't hate all racists.

If you're too simple too see any difference, that's not my problem.

Hate the sin, not the sinner.

It's hard for me to separate the two, especially as someone who is estranged from their family full of racists.

My family pretty much did that to my now deceased gay uncle. Until he was destitute and had to move back in and was basically literally ridiculed to death.

I can't hate my family, but I hate how they are and will not associate with them. I hope they live their lives in peace, but they will have to answer to whatever maker they meet.

That's pretty much how I feel about Trumpers, go act a fool, but keep me out of it. Right now that is not an option, they insist on spreading their behavior onto my front lawn.

I don't know why but no one seems to have noticed or really commented much on the fact that they also spontaneously? chanted

"Honor her wish!"

"Honor her wish!"

"Honor her wish!"

The videos seem to cut that part out. Unless you hunt around. Didn't see it hyped up in the media.

Was the crowd really that prepared and are we really that organized or was the crowd momentarily possessed by the spirit of the Notorious RGB?

Because that is what the family said her last wishes truly were. I want to believe it was the latter. And this is America, where I can believe what I want to believe so.... since I know this I want to thank her.

Thank you RBG for everything you did for America. You really did your best for us!!
