Looks like a part of NYC is seeing an uptick...

COVID-19 patients on rise at 3 hospitals in Brooklyn, Queens
abc7ny.com

...New data shows that New York City is starting to see an uptick in the number of COVID-19 patients in two hospitals in Brooklyn and at least one in Queens, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said.

The increase corresponds with the continued growth of cases at an alarming rate in eight neighborhoods.

The Department of Health says they are outpacing the citywide average by 3.3 times over the past 14 days.

These areas account for over 23% of new cases citywide over the past two weeks despite representing just under 7% of the city's overall population....

" Yes, but: The Trump administration has repeatedly suggested that reopening America's economy could boost herd immunity.
Public health officials say a vaccine should remain the priority on the path toward normalcy."

These two items do not impact the other so there was no reason to bring this up. Both can be done at the same time. It's either that or we close down America. And if Biden has any chance of winning, it won't be by running a platform that shutting down the economy is a good thing. This is where all the rhetoric leading up to today has bit Libs in the buttocks.

Only Trumpy is talking about "shutting down America."

You don't have to "shut down". You have listen to the CDC and to take proper precautions. And those precautions are whatever it takes to prevent transmission. Until a vaccine is available. (Even after a vaccine is available a mask probably will offer more protection.)

Precautions like testing testing testing. Wearing a mask. And Physical distancing.

Your "Herd Mentality" Plan is a fools game promoted by fools and will kill millions more Americans unnecessarily.

"The Trump administration has repeatedly suggested that reopening America's economy could boost herd immunity."

Well that's pretty cynical.

The only way to boost herd immunity is for more of the herd to become immune.

So Trump is saying, as more people get sick, those that don't die will contribute to herd immunity.

Typically, when we want to boost herd immunity, we do it through vaccination, not by deliberate exposure to an incurable disease.

The study being looked at is for persons receiving dialysis being tested. This is a very high risk population with end stage kidney failure. I would presume that as a group they would have taken the masking, isolation and social distancing very seriously, so they should have low rates. This is the group that if contracting COVID got quite sick with a higher likelihood of death.
Why it is being used to looks at national rates of antibody conversion is befuddling. It tells us the rates of conversion of a very select population.

Excellent point. Way to look past the original claim, all the way to the truth.

So let's do the math, it cost 200k Amercan lives to get to 10% of the population with antibodies. Hurd immunitycomes at about 70% with antibodies, so Dotard is willing to let 1.4 million Americans die to get to "hurd mentality."

It's estimated to reach nearly 7 million deaths in the United States according to herd immunity theory.

Parts of Canada are going back into lockdown within the next couple of days.

The seasonal infections might be outmatched by Covid replicability so I'm curious if the normal vaccines might be too dangerous to employ?

I pegged that as well and thought it a poorly done study given the sampling population.

However...

It's a bit dated and before the surges IIRC but seropositivity rates are low low low so far. Certainly not close enough to warrant Rand Paul's herd immunity comments.

This is in line with the Imperial College Report that AmericanUnity posted back in March, and estimated 1.1 - 2.2 million deaths, depending on the successfulness of social distancing.

The die was already cast, in March.

Our window of chance to stop this closes in February, maybe even January.

People who don't understand epidemiology can't understand how that's possible.
