Two brothers from a SW Missouri Amish community, Petie and Aaron Schwartz, have avoided prison time for raping and impregnating their 12 year old sister. The brothers are two of four who admitted to having sex with their sister. The rape of the girl was originally reported after the pregnant girl who had recently turned 13 years old sought medical treatment from a non-Amish medical facility. The other two brothers are minors and it is not known if they have been charged. The two men were each originally charged with six counts of statutory rape but struck a plea deal for charges of third degree child molestation. The brothers were sentenced to pay a fine, serve 100 hours of community service and write an apology letter to the Amish community. They will also have to register as sex offenders. The prosecutor defended the plea by claiming a lack of cooperation from everyone involved and stated that "These two young men would've been eaten alive in the state prison system."

Just days after the conviction, the prosecutor is already asking the judge to revoke their probation after they both had contact with the victim which violates the terms of the plea. If found to have violated the terms of their release they are looking at 15 years in prison.

- 15 years in prison

Would at least be more appropriate.

... "These two young men would've been eaten alive in the state prison system." ...

That's a reason to fix the prison system.

It is not a reason to avoid punishing someone.

Seriously, this is some the most white priviledge ------- I've seen from a Missouri prosecutor and that's saying A LOT. You know who is also very immature, the 12 year olds who our no mask wearing Covid having Governor is pushing to prosecute.

Did she "ask for it"? Was she upset when they contacted her again? Just curious. If she wasn't upset when they contacted her,who called the police?
