Looks like the meds may still be affecting Pres Trump's thought processes, or maybe a lasting effect of COVID-19?

This reminds me of a line from "Tombstone":

Trump and Putin must be confusing America for Russia.

In Russia, you just poison your opponents.

Not as easy here in America.

Also. The sad situation Bill Barr will find himself in, is prison

Barr has claimed that POTUS has the authority to do anything he wants, so how can Obama have committed a crime as POTUS?

Can anyone imagine if Barack Obama was publicly bullying Eric Holder to arrest Mitt Romney a few weeks before the election?

The good news is that Trump's rantings will make it easier for Biden to put an ex-US POTUS in jail.
My Trump pool choice of "Die in Prison" is looking better and better.

Nah, this is just a normal crazy statement from Trump.

The best case scenario is that no one will take the POTUS seriously.

What a sad, sad state of affairs we find ourselves in.

And sadly there is a large enough group of people who'd start acting on it.

I had that originally but I'm shifting mine to Russia. I think Daddy Vlad has an available spare room in the Kremlin.

If he survives Covid he won't survive 6 months in prison. He knows this.

People like Trump and Barr don't do well in prison environments.

This is just Donald Trump, drowning in desperation and grabbing at straws.

Trump is nothing if not redundant. It worked before so why not try it again?

Remember, 11 days before the 2016 election, FBI director Comey was coerced into saying he was opening an investigation of Hillary or he'd be fired. (He got fired anyway).

Take that as a warning. That's how we ended up with Donald Trump.

Barr's in too deep now. He's probably going to lose his license to practice law anyway. There's no doubt he'll try to do something to save his job, even if it's only an announcement that he's opening investigations.

Barr has claimed that POTUS has the authority to do anything he wants...

Who needs Barr? donald said that himself. His power is absolute.

"You citation for that claim?'

Well...Barr, the chief law enforcement officer in the nation, didn't push back when Trump suggested as much ("When somebody's the President of the United States, the authority is total"), and then there's this:
www.washingtonpost.com

"Barr's going to go down either as the greatest attorney general in the history of the country or he's gonna go down as a very sad situation."

How many of those "greatest" people has this administration invented so far? I believe the machinery works only one direction..

"Bill Barr could find himself in "a sad situation"

I'm a little curious how A.G. Barr will react to being threated.

The drums are beating right now for a 25th Amendment intervention. The storm clouds are gathering. Barr is well aware of the "end of days" for the Trump administration and, by extension, himself.

The thought has entered my mind that Barr might not take the threat kindly (after all he's done for Trump) and decide to join the intervention ~~ not to protect the country from Trump in these final days ~~ but to protect himself from being drug into the muck and mire.

I wouldn't bet any money on that happening but it was just a thought.

It's also possible that Putin could have several of them whacked just to foment furthering the chaos of their dying moments.

We know they are connected with the supremacists inside the White House and Secret Service and facilitated hiding their groups online.

I'm talking about Trump threatening to fire Barr.

What are you talking about in this thread?

#23 | Posted by Twinpac at 2020-10-09 12:55 AM | Reply

#23 - Barr is aware that he is two-stepping with the devil and is aware that no-one gets out alive. But they are merely one level of an existing infiltration. He has nothing to gain or to lose - once Trump is dumped Barr's career is kaput, imo.

"Barr is aware that he is two-stepping with the devil and is aware that no-one gets out alive.

Then it's imperative that Barr get on board with the 25th Amendment intervention to save whatever he has left of himself.

Barr was already in retirement when Trump call him back so it's not the loss of a career Barr is facing.

#25 | Posted by Twinpac at 2020-10-09 07:25 AM | Reply

The 'thing' that Barr is doing
is allowing for state leaders to make
judgements about the validity of the
ballots cast (the vote) within each state.
And while this will play well w those on
the Right in states like TX and GA (where
the GOP is used to cheating [suppressing the vote] to win), I don't think this will help Trump in the northern tier states that he really needs to win (with the possible exception of Wisconsin).

This vote, if it is lost by Biden, will be
lost in the Post Offices and the Statehouses
of this nation...

You are pretty bright. You could find these things yourself if you wanted to.

"Under the law, all prosecutorial power is vested in the attorney general. And these people are agents of the attorney general. As I say to FBI agents, 'Whose agent do you think you are?' Now, I don't say this in a pompous way, but that is the chain of authority and legitimacy in the Department of Justice."

What could he (Barr) be holding out for?

I have no idea.

Barr knew his real job description when he signed on. So, he might also be facing federal charges if Trump doesn't get re-elected.

It's like having a tiger by the tail. You know what's going to happen if you let go.

I think that Barr sincerely thought that Trump would be president for the next sixteen years, and after him some other Trump. I don't think you can explain his behavior otherwise.

He played with fire and is already getting burned.

I'll be glad to sweep away the ashes.
