Open highways with little traffic and fewer cops encouraging 100 mph plus riding seems to be to blame. Usually it's Harleyites sans helmets and full of brewskies that increases the death toll.

I'm wanting a bike again, but more for back roads, two lanes, and dirt roads. Not fast nor furious.

Thanks for the article, TFD. Your scooter didn't go 100 mph, right?

I can do >80 on my Vespa GTS now. Once bombing a mountain in the Carolinas I buried the speedo (75) on my Stella, a 150 with 10" tires. That was exciting.
