One channel showed an adult conversation about issues of the day, and the other showed a guy urinating in public. That Trump's ratings were so high demonstrates that some folks will watch anything on TV...

I predicted this as soon as Trump's NBC town hall was announced. Most undecided voters have seen Joe Biden - he's hard to miss with all his commercials running, showing that he's decent, measured, empathetic, and engaged. He understands the problems and issues and has plans to address them, yet still claims to be open toward changing his course should it become necessary.

The majority of undecided or wavering viewers last night watched Trump to see if he could possibly give them a reason to back him again if he could show them something he hasn't been - letting him have yet another chance at rebooting his malevolent narcissistic personality into something at least semi-humane. And of course, he went off the rails again with lies, dodges, false accusations and pitiful recriminations.

Trump isn't going to change and unless a person is already predisposed to vote for him anyway, nothing that he's going to say or do between now and the final day of voting is going to change very many minds. One is either a Trump voter or they aren't. Every poll taken and all approval polls since he's been President say that those who favor him are a minority. Now it's up to the majority of Americans to make sure and register their feelings by casting their ballots against him.

Joe Biden put to rest the attacks of Trump that he is senile last night. He took questions about all sorts of things and showed a clear headed approach to all of them. Trump is now toast. As he should be.

Savanah Guthrie elevated herself to an important reporter and pundit last night, she stood up to that lunatic. Kudo's on her. I'll be expectin Trump's insults for her any minute now. He will probably say she was nasty because that is what he says about any woman that stands up to him.

Wait until Kristen Welker gets a hold of him next week if he manages to show for the next debate. BGM on fleek.

Actually, I expect Welker to be extremely professional in her approach to and questioning of both candidates - unless Trump starts to attack her like he used to do at the White House.

Do y'all actually convince yourselves that they weren't crooks? Do y'all have functioning brains? I honestly do have to wonder about that. Average Republicans really are ignorant dopes, rich Republicans I can understand....it's all about low taxes for the 1% but the rest of them are just stupid.

They were only comparing the so-called 'over-the-air' channels of ABC versus NBC. NBC also broadcasted the 'Trump show' on MSNBC and CNBC.

It's simple when you accept 1 fact:

The only thing they care about is upsetting liberals. As long as these horrible incompetent republican leaders upset liberals, their flock of morons will keep supporting them.

It's all about getting revenge against the people who they know they're inferior to.

The fact that more people tuned in to the boring policy-oriented town hall over Trump's car wreck extravaganza should be very worrying for Republicans and their ratings-obsessed cult leader.

The primary reason for creating a "dueling debates" format had to be so Trump could gloat about the ratings if more people watched his. Where does this moronic loser go from here?

I was curious about those stats. So I looked into it.

The only source for this information seems to be on Bongino.com, which belongs to ex secret service member and two time failed congressional candidate, Dan Bongino. (Lost in Maryland twice, now he's trying his luck in Florida.)

Also. The stats seem to be coming from a tweet, which has been debunked.

Perhaps you have a different source for your stats.

Well the final results are in and...

More people watched Biden on ABC than Trump on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC

Joe Biden's town hall on ABC averaged 14.1 million viewers on Thursday night, easily surpassing the Nielsen ratings for President Trump's town hall on NBC. That alone was a result virtually no one in the TV business expected. And that's not even the most surprising part.

The Trump town hall was simulcast by two of NBC's cable channels, MSNBC and CNBC, but even when those channels are included in the total, Biden -- on only one network -- still prevailed.

The Trump town hall averaged 10.6 million viewers on the NBC broadcast network. On MSNBC, Trump reached 1.74 million viewers, and on CNBC, about 671,000 viewers. So Trump's gross audience across the three channels was 13.1 million, about one million fewer than Biden's audience on ABC alone.

www.cnn.com

Color me surprised, but pleasantly so. However, the reality is that Trump gave up the opportunity of reaching 70+ million had he fulfilled his agreement to debate Biden head-to-head even though it would have been virtually in order to speak to only 13 million.

Is there any wonder why Trump has had so many bankruptcies when he makes faulty calculations like this?

#44 | Posted by anton at 2020-10-16 05:04 PM | Reply | Funny: 1

I admit that Biden appears competent and engaging, perhaps not having Trump distract has helped immensely. I wonder how the people, particularly the women who asked Trump direct questions feel about his responses to them. He didn't really have any good answer to the healthcare replacement issue - yet, questioners seem on board with his blathering garbage non-answer. And the stimulus - he claims "We've actually passed three packages and are on our fourth." On what planet?! Our collected taxes going to corporate whores? People, get real because this "president" isn't.

#45 | Posted by redlightrobot at 2020-10-16 05:35 PM | Reply

One could conclude Biden got higher ratings because 'undecided voters' were interested in hearing from him. Finally.

In an election with an incumbant, undecided voters typically swing to the contender because they already know what they're getting with the incumbant, and it wasn't enough to commit their vote to them.

#46 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2020-10-16 06:11 PM | Reply

There were probably a lot of people who flipped back and forth.

Trump being Trump on one, Biden calmly and thoroughly answering every question in detail. His stuttering may cause him to pause while he looks for a different word, but his knowledge on a wide range of issues is deep. And as a former VP just 4 years ago, he has a deep list of highly qualified people ready to fill our government and run it competently after 4 years of chaos and the gutting of our national government and institutional memory. The State Dept, for instance, is a shell in tatters.

Two days ago I was driving to work listening to a podcast where they played sound from Dotard claiming that he was actually ahead in all the polls, that the polls that show him behind are "suppression polls." I think to myself, "Rasmussen is a suppression poll? They have Biden up by 12 nationally" So Agolf Twittler will claim that his private ratings firm assures him that his ratings were actually far stronger, that nobody would want to watch the boring Biden town hall, that the ratings we're seeing in national media are "supression ratings."

#49 | Posted by _Gunslinger_ at 2020-10-16 07:00 PM | Reply

I haven't looked, but I'm curious what the MSNBC rating for his hour of shame was. I know that Maddow and Hayes were more than a little perturbed with their NBC bosses for scheduling a head-to-head town hall after the POS was too afraid to debate. I'm sure those that watched both found Joe's town hall to be far more substantive and informational while all the orange orangutan could do was fling feces.
