Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, October 24, 2020

The Trump campaign's communications director asserted on Friday that the reason some migrant families separated by the administration at the U.S. border have not been reunited is because the parents do not want their children back. Multiple media outlets reported this week that the federal government remains unable to reach the parents of more than 500 children who were separated from their families after crossing the U.S. border, according to recent court filings.

Out of the thousands of "families" that have entered illegally some will have brought children who were orphans or maybe even kidnapped for the purpose of using the children hoping to improve the chances of getting in and staying.

It actually makes sense likely several hundred may not have had their real parents with them to begin with. Finding their parents now would be impossible.

I can well imagine the living conditions where they came from were fairly harsh and parentless children might be more common than we are used to seeing in America.

Those children would be better off now than where they came from.

You have no evidence whatsoever for that -------- conjecture. None. You made it completely up. All to salve your conscience because you're voting for that war criminal Trump. You're guilty in your complicity, and evil in your enabling of it.

Those children would be better off now than where they came from.

In cages with nothing by a mylar blanket sleeping on concrete with guards in watchtowers - all for no crime - and now without any hope of being reunited with their parents. All because of TRUMP.

You have no soul, no morality, no empathy, no compassion, no humanity.

I bet you call yourself "pro-life", too.

"Out of the thousands of "families" that have entered illegally some will have brought children"

The most generous estimate, from the Uber-conservative American Thinker, suggested roughly 7 in 10 were brought by parents. In every case, statistically speaking, odds are America was separating parents from their children, in an action of purposeful cruelty.

en.wikipedia.org

Good Germans is an ironic term, usually placed between inverted commas, referring to German citizens during and after World War II who claimed not to have supported the Nazi regime, but remained silent and did not resist in a meaningful way.[1][2] The term is further used to describe those who claimed ignorance of the Holocaust and German war crimes. Despite these claims, post-war research has suggested that a large number of ordinary Germans were aware of the Holocaust at least in general terms: captive slave laborers were a common sight; the public knew Jews were being deported to Poland; and the basics of the concentration camp system, if not the extermination camps, were widely known.[3]

Dan,

The 500 or so children where their parents can't be found was the topic in my post.

Not a general discussion on the ethics of general treatment of illegals.

No...I don't have a study in my back pocket to whip out but using your common sense, it's not too hard to figure out of all the people coming over many of the children would not be with their parents.

You are really up Trump's intestinal tract.

Parents take their children with them.

I see nothing wrong with aunts and uncles helping their nieces and nephews escape. I see nothing wrong with a friend helping the children of friends escape. I see nothing wrong with a clergy helping a whole flock of children The man is demented. join relatives already in the U.S.

I have a lot of problems with Trump getting his rocks off by being as cruel as he possibly can to those children.

The man is demented.

@#1 ... Finding their parents now would be impossible. ...

Setting aside the absurdity of your position, your comment is negated by what the spokesperson stated, "And when they do locate them, it has been DHS' experience that in many cases the parents do not want the children returned." So parents have been found.

There's ambiguity of the "many cases". How many cases? Out of how many total? The Trump administration implies they have the numbers, why not put them out for all to see?

What about the parents who, in the Trump administration hypothetical scenario, do want their children back?

The above concerns are present before I even start to consider just how much the Trump administration lies about nearly everything, something even the supporters of Pres Trump acknowledge.

So, based upon what I've seen in the past, and what the trump supporters have told me, I'd say that they are making this excuse up, that they know they are unable to united the children with their parents and are trying to coover up that fact.

How Trump Came to Enforce a Practice of Separating Migrant Families (June 2018)
www.nytimes.com

...Almost immediately after President Trump took office, his administration began weighing what for years had been regarded as the nuclear option in the effort to discourage immigrants from unlawfully entering the United States.

Children would be separated from their parents if the families had been apprehended entering the country illegally, John F. Kelly, then the homeland security secretary, said in March 2017, "in order to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network."...

US won't say how it will reunite split-up immigrant families (June 2018)

"it's not too hard to figure out of all the people coming over many of the children would not be with their parents."

When even the most conservative of publications suggests 70% ARE with their parents, it's not too hard to figure out of the 545 they can't reconnect, at least 360 of those were taken from their parents. That means the odds they're being ripped from their parents are more than twice as high as the odds they came with someone else. Once you account for Aunts/Uncles and/or family friends, you're left with the vast majority torn apart for the sake of cruelty.

Is that what passes for Republican comedy these days?

Yeah, us godless liberals sit around a table and laugh endlessly about the deaths of our political rivals.

It's friggin hilarious!

Actually I would ask how you did it. I want to have parties too!!

Did you test or quarantine before the party? What about after?

I would ask if you all wore masks and properly socially distanced in order to properly protect each other. Then I would ask if maybe you could follow up and tell us weeks later how many got the Rona.

And how many died.

Anyway.

Thanks for trying to put your nasty words in my mouth.

Ewww.

@#24 ... torn apart for the sake of cruelty ...

That is the aspect that disgusts me.

The Trump Administration even admitted it, that they were taking children from their parents because it was a cruel thing to do.

BJ and Phester represent the current GOP: Old and obnoxious, out of touch, disingenuous and completely lacking in empathy.

That ain't good for the party.

This year we must make clear America has had enough of their rot and toss them out in huge numbers.
