More from the article...

...US immigration officers allegedly tortured Cameroonian asylum seekers to force them to sign their own deportation orders, in what lawyers and activists describe as a brutal scramble to fly African migrants out of the country in the run-up to the elections.

Many of the Cameroonian migrants in a Mississippi detention centre refused to sign, fearing death at the hands of Cameroonian government forces responsible for widespread civilian killings, and because they had asylum hearings pending.

According to multiple accounts, detainees were threatened, choked, beaten, pepper-sprayed and threatened with more violence to make them sign. Several were put in handcuffs by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officers, and their fingerprints were taken forcibly in place of a signature on documents called stipulated orders of removal, by which the asylum seekers waive their rights to further immigration hearings and accept deportation.

Lawyers and human rights advocates said there had been a significant acceleration of deportations in recent weeks, a trend they see as linked to the looming elections and the possibility that Ice could soon be under new management....

These sick f*&^s need to be thoroughly investigated by a Biden administration (assuming we get so lucky).

Defund ICE, no budget, no funding, nothing. Starve the beast. Lock up the bad actors. This kind of thing is why Trump and his whole crew are scum. Let's scrape it off our shoes.

I bet Donald Trump both knows about this and has in fact authorized it.

Not happening. Current Dem leadership was good with giving ICE a 30% budget increase in the last 4 years.

I wouldn't want such defunding of ICE, just as I do not want defunding of police.

Refocus ICE on what needs to be done, then adjust the budget and personnel to attain that goal.

Rethugs weren't voted out of the House until 2 years ago. Dems didn't write the budget.

We just began the 2nd budget of 2 since they've controlled the House.

That seems to be the direction in which Trump's America is moving.

My question is ...

What happens when such questions are no longer directed at asylum-seekers, but are directed at those who Pres Trump views as political enemies.

Pres Trump has already gone on record as wanting his enforcement to focus upon his political enemies.

Where to next?

Really.

Where to next?

Anyone?

If it's true, it requires immediate action. However, the question I have is, what would it matter if they are deported or not. They can't vote, right? If nothing else, it's an example of having enough evidence to know the Dems try to fraud the elections by having as many people vote as possible, even the ones who aren't eligible. So it makes sense to legally try to get rid of the problem. Now, if they used human rights abuses to make it happen then it's a terrible thing. But with all of the "anonymous" sources Dems have used the last 4 years for accusations that turned out to have no substantive evidence, if it turns out not to be true then Dems need to be held accountable in some way.
