Thank God.

The cool thing now is we can just ignore Trump. I know it's gonna be a shttstorm but after his meltdown this week, he has no cred among anyone but his rabid cult. And they will diminish through the months and years.

Then they will reform into some other grotesque monolith, but for now, we have defeated the boss until the next level.

Not done until there are no more legal challenges.

Something will have to be done to at least throw a bone to all the people claiming it's illegitimate. At current, Biden may have a presidency more opposed and viewed as more illegitimate than Trump's was by the left, and by equal numbers of an almost evenly divided nation.I spend a lot of time on both left and right wing sites. The right is actually scary right now. The number calling for armed resistance, who feel the left has been up to unrestrained rioting since summer, and that it's now their (more heavily armed) turn, the number of personalities who tell their followers they "can't tell them what to do, but they know what to do" - a clear call to arms while making sure they remain uncensored by YouTube and other hosts, is unreal. 99.9% will be Gravy Seals and y'allQuaeda that will never get up from screaming about it on their couch, but with these numbers, that .1% that might act is larger than you would think. Manual recounts, something to shut them up, or at least quiet the less angry before they become more radicalized.

Last, when all settles, the left needs to do some soul searching. Identifying all Trump supporters - nearly half the nation, and with larger minority support than 4 years ago - as merely racists or uneducated rubes is going to do nothing to derail the populist momentum and reasons Republicans made inroads, it will only fan the flames of opposition and 2022 will end up being a democrat bloodbath as we have the usual turn against whatever party the president is from. Less focus on identity politics, more on issues that will still disproportionately assist minorities, but also help working class whites like Medicare for all and living wages would go a great way in uniting instead of dividing the way Dems have been doing. Too long going for the easy hit that achieves nothing of just paying lip service to minorities rather than making substantive changes that wouldn't alienate the majority might be a smart change. Again, Trump made inroads with minorities - even they have noticed Democrats being all talk and no action in their favor. Time to make the hard decisions.

Oh, and stop being warhawks. I've never felt dirtier than voting for Biden. Screw him and his support of the Iraq war and everything after.

The racist orange turd responds:

President Trump issues a statement:

We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don't want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.

Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots. This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election. It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters. Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the count room " and then fight in court to block their access.

So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.

Joe Biden should do everything sanely possible to reach out to the Trumpites and convince them to work for the greater good, as well as their own.

Joe has the skills to make that happen, if anyone does. It couldn't be someone like me, by any long shot.

If there is rational basis for accommodation, I'm all for it. But I really think that Trumpism finds many of its roots in the R-Complex of the human mind. The preference for self-generated fantasies over objective reality will continue to prove a tough nut to crack.

No. You just don't understand how anti war I am. People I served with died for Bush's lies. I've never been joking when I say I wanted Bush, Cheney, and then Obama and Biden all tried and hung for war crimes. Trump was a disaster nationally - but internationally he's responsible for millions less deaths than that group, and every representative that voted for the Iraq war, supported our ongoing Afghanistan occupation, destabilization of Libya leading to civil war, disease, starvation, and slavery. I'm no Republican economically, and eventually that, along with bungled covid responses while I work in healthcare affected my vote - but Bidens is just another genocidal imperialist. I will bet any amount of money against trump giving a real concession speech. He may give a speech but it will be to tell his final lies and to blame others for his loss.

"Extrapolating out from current vote totals, I project Biden winning the popular vote by 4.3 percentage points and getting 81.8 million votes to President Trump's 74.9 million, with a turnout of around 160 million.

This is significant because no candidate has ever received 70 million votes in an election " former President Barack Obama came the closest in 2008, with 69.5 million votes " let alone 80 million."

I could not be prouder to congratulate our next President, Joe Biden, and our next First Lady, Jill Biden.

I also couldn't be prouder to congratulate Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff for Kamala's groundbreaking election as our next Vice President.

In this election, under circumstances never experienced, Americans turned out in numbers never seen. And once every vote is counted, President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris will have won a historic and decisive victory.

We're fortunate that Joe's got what it takes to be President and already carries himself that way. Because when he walks into the White House in January, he'll face a series of extraordinary challenges no incoming President ever has " a raging pandemic, an unequal economy and justice system, a democracy at risk, and a climate in peril.

I know he'll do the job with the best interests of every American at heart, whether or not he had their vote. So I encourage every American to give him a chance and lend him your support. The election results at every level show that the country remains deeply and bitterly divided. It will be up to not just Joe and Kamala, but each of us, to do our part " to reach out beyond our comfort zone, to listen to others, to lower the temperature and find some common ground from which to move forward, all of us remembering that we are one nation, under God.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who worked, organized, and volunteered for the Biden campaign, every American who got involved in their own way, and everybody who voted for the first time. Your efforts made a difference. Enjoy this moment. Then stay engaged. I know it can be exhausting. But for this democracy to endure, it requires our active citizenship and sustained focus on the issues " not just in an election season, but all the days in between.

Our democracy needs all of us more than ever. And Michelle and I look forward to supporting our next President and First Lady however we can.

-Obama

Biden will now need to contend with an openly hostile senate once more. He will undoubtedly coddle the sons of bitches, so I'm hoping Harris carries a very big stick. McConnell looks frail and 'rona is taking sooooo long! I'm certain the GOP knows they need to cannibalize him sooner, and while they gear up the Q media it's a matter of time until ALL of their politicians are put away. So they will probably keep crazy at 11 and roast our last nerves with their blowtorch of "freedom" and truly stupid sounding conspiracies to distract from their non-actions in office. Again. They are soooo old and nearing death - the GOP should extinguish itself.

"The End of an Error

This country was always better than Donald Trump.

Donald Trump destroyed many things in his single term as president. The quickest one Joe Biden can repair may be the measure of self-respect Trump robbed through four years of national humiliation.

Of all the endless lies made by and for Trump, the most insidiously effective is the one his daughter Ivanka uttered at his nominating convention, when she described him as "the people's president."

One would think that a precondition for being a "people's president" " and not just a duly-elected holder of the office " would be gaining the support of a plurality of the electorate. But after four years of relentless pseudo-populist propaganda, this absurd claim came naturally."

I'm making my first prediction, that Joe Biden will include in his Cabinet at least TWO prominent Republicans who were NOT part of the so-called 'Trump world', but not necessarily vocal 'never-Trumpers'. These will be people who have a solid reputations and have demonstrated their ability to work with all parties when the sake of the nation and it's people are at stake.

Crowds full of people in masks are much less likely than crowds without masks to spread Covid, particularly if the crowds are moving around. That was shown during the BLM protests.

But no one is claiming it's safe to take to the streets today and be packed closely together without going anywhere.

Just reading about what went down. Hysterical:

In case you missed it, the Trump campaign called a press conference this morning in the parking lot of "Four Seasons Total Landscaping" in Philadelphia. The assumption is that they meant to book the Four Seasons hotel but made a mistake and just went with it. Seriously.

There is no other explanation possible in my opinion. They intended to have the conference at the Four Seasons Hotel and someone screwed up and rather than move it, they just went with this insane location

Donald wanted the hotel and announced it before his staff had booked it. Unfortunately for him the hotel wanted nothing to do with him. This was his failed attempt to save face.

I feel an unbelievable sense of relief. There have been eight presidents I remember: Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump.

Seven of them acted like presidents. One didn't. Not only did he not act like a president, he prided himself on this and engaged in childish rebellion against the norms of decency, behavior and responsibility that come with the job.

Now we get a president again.

May we never have another president like Trump again for as long as this country exists.

A,

You should read before posting.

I said I'm glad Biden won.

Trump was the first Republican I had voted for since Reagan.

I'm not stuck in one party mode like most sheep voters.

I got what I wanted from Trump. 3 Supreme Court nominations.

His behavior at the first debate was surprising. Such arrogance.

Couldn't he control himself for one hour?

I just don't make it my life to sit around bashing people.

He was under a lot of pressure. He didn't take well to living in a fish bowl unable to make time to recharge. The level of constant criticism directed at him was unfair at times and well deserved at others.

His lack of political skills caught up with him and the virus was a diaster how he communicated with America and medical professionals.

I won't comment on his handling of the virus because I don't believe Hillary would have fared much better. This is a bad situation and there is no way to have avoided it.

One thing has come out of this election.

The far left rhetoric will be put on hold. Defunding the police is history. The word socialism is now a dirty word and stacking the Supreme Court is not happening.

All in all...I'm pleased.

I think she would have done much better because she would've kept the pandemic team in place, followed Obama's pandemic playbook and let the scientists and epidemiologists take the lead in our response.

She never would have politicized the act of wearing a mask or told people it would've disappear on its own. She wouldn't have looked for miracle cures or listened to people like the MyPillow guy.

Trump was catastrophically bad at handling the pandemic. Even if Hillary only did an OK job handling it that would have been an enormous improvement.

Since there's an extraordinary amount of money to be made off Trumpers glued to their TVs, here's the only thing that needs to happen to resolve your objection:

-someone who knows hiw to run a TV station approaches Trump
-Trump lets them put his name on it
-they fill it with people like Dan Bongino, Charlie Kirk, and give Trump 1-2 hours a day to come on and look like the mastermind
-morons everywhere tune in and the ad revenue flows accordingly

You can't seriously think this won't happen

Instead, he didn't listen to the competent people, got jealous any time they got credit in the media and eventually pushed them aside for hacks and yes men.

That is what would happen at Trump TV. He might start with someone who knows how to run a TV network but he wouldn't keep them around or take their advice.

I'll make a prediction, the House Democrats will take over six months to draft articles of Impeachment before they deliver it to the Senate. The Senate will have their show trial and declare Trump not guilty within a month. The vast majority of voters will see the Jackass party as a waste of time and Pelosi will have a perfect record, losing the majority within one congressional term. Tip O'Neil she isn't. The Democrats have realized they have no chance beating Trump in this fall's election. They have said so. Impeachment on such flimsy grounds are a distraction. High crimes and misdemeanors? Clinton was convicted of felony crimes, yet it didn't seem to be enough to remove him from office. Not cooperating with congress is not a crime, if so, Obama did so six times.

Rcade,

You talk like you think the only reason anyone disregards masks or is tired of isolating is because of Trump.

You talk like you think if Hillary had been president everyone would have done what they were told.

Hardly...Americans are individualistic and programmed to think for themselves.

Youth are even worse at being told what to do. Liberals especially.

People stayed home only as long as they were paid to. Money stopped...cooperation stopped.

You think because you adore Hillary Clinton everyone else does and will do what she says?

People are getting tired of this and is likely why we're seeing it rebounding.

The virus is spreading because it's doing what viruses do and even Hillary wouldn't have prevented or stopped it.

I'm not interested in hearing projections as if anyone knows how this would been different. This is a new virus and is not behaving as expected.

I don't care about what could have been especially if people are just guessing.

It is time to turn off SNL on DVR.

While I dislike poor losers, I despise poor winners even more.

I will not watch SNL cold opens denigrating and mocking Trump and just gloating.

It's pretty certain they will do that since they probably think they helped get Biden get elected when they should be thanking China for the virus.

I have a feeling I won't watch SNL for about a year until hopefully they get some writers and better cast members.

I'm not interested in hearing projections as if anyone knows how this would been different.

Yet you had no problem making your own projection that it wouldn't be different.

You talk like you think the only reason anyone disregards masks or is tired of isolating is because of Trump.

He's not the only reason some Americans won't wear masks. He's the biggest reason.

When the president says something, a lot of people believe it. Even if it's stupid or incredibly dangerous to their own lives.

I said, "I don't believe Hillary would have fared much better."

That's not exactly saying there would have been no difference.

I'll give some credit that some problems would have been less.

But it is unlikely there wouldn't have been other problems instead.

You change variables...you never know what you're going to get.

Veteran foreign correspondent Richard Engel just said on MSNBC, "the world is acting like we've overthrown a dictator."

I had the same thought as I watched the spontaneous celebration in the streets of cities across America. It wasn't like the normal level of celebration by one side when an election is won. It felt more like seeing V-E Day.

#288 | Posted by rcade at 2020-11-07 10:34 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 3

That's not exactly saying there would have been no difference.

OK. But it's not like I went very far in asserting success for Hillary. Basically I said Trump was so awful even a so-so performance on the pandemic by another president would have been a big improvement.

That's the bottom line for me. Trump was terrible leading America during the pandemic. It's been a tragedy of historic proportions.

Now we have to hope that Biden and his new coronavirus task force being announced Monday can turn this around.

#289 | Posted by rcade at 2020-11-07 10:37 PM | Reply

Rcade,

"He's the biggest reason."

I don't know if that's a true statement or not.

Trump reflected conservative views that other conservatives had on their own.

More than Trump, I suspect it's just part of thinking like a Republican and being more cognizant of the economy and resistant to shutting down businesses and such.

I will say conservatives were strongly hoping for a quick turnaround but not because of what Trump was saying. They just happened to think alike.

Trump could have been ahead of the curve a bit more than he was, but today I'm not really that convinced the virus would have been controlled. Held back...slowed down....It's just highly contagious..it's going to spread regardless. Even liberal governors eventually began to see they needed to reopen their states.

If a vaccine had come out already, then maybe the damage could have been less but it is still going and spreading today. Eventually we would end up being probably pretty close to where we are anyway or like I said we'd just have a different set of problems.

But...there's little point in focusing on what could have been.

Where does that get you?

You're just guessing anyway to make yourself feel good.

#290 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2020-11-07 10:37 PM | Reply

I don't know if that's a true statement or not.

It's weird you can't see Trump for what he is. He made a political issue out of avoiding masks, said the virus would just disappear and downplayed the risk in public statements while privately telling Bob Woodward he knew it was going to be serious.

These are utterly, unequivocally, catastrophically terrible statements for a president of the United States to say during the worst novel virus to strike the country in 100 years.

They are a significant reason why so many Americans are dead.

You're just guessing anyway to make yourself feel good.

It's also weird you spin my speculation this way while putting your own spin on the same subject.

I don't need to say anything to make myself feel good. I'm not Trump. I don't need to lie to myself and the rest of the world because I can't face the truth. I can tell the truth whether or not it's a truth I like to hear.

--------! We wore masks because we didn't want to die of coronavirus and we didn't want to spread it to other people.

That's not a political position. It's the recommendation of every epidemiological expert in the country. There are conservatives here like Gracie and Boaz advocating mask wearing. Did they become liberals and not tell anybody?

Mask wearing was my position when the virus got here and is my position today.

Your both-sideism is ridiculous.

#294 | Posted by rcade at 2020-11-07 11:01 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Rcade,

The idea of politicizing masks was being spread on both sides.

Liberals would say, "we wear masks...conservatives don't"

and guess what happened.

My point is it wasn't simply conservatives teaching other conservatives to not wear masks.

It's was also liberal media telling everyone, "we wear masks...conservatives don't".

In that respect liberal media was part of the politicizing of masks.

You may not like the inadvertent result of trying to shame conservatives but I stand by what I said.

Both liberals and conservatives have been politicizing masks.

This amorphous standard can be shifted and molded to accommodate anything Bill happens to be thinking at any time. It's like arguing with a third grader.

FT. Just showing you how you treat others.
#340 | POSTED BY EBERLY

I treat every poster on the DR different.

And after my last incident with Boaz I decided to start choosing my responses better.

For the most part I've kept up with that.

Also. I don't believe asking BillJohnson to "Shut up" was harsh.

You should take a moment to look at your posts and see what you're writing.

If you are honest with yourself. You can't claim to be happy with who you've become.

-And overall I felt like you were a normal person.

Clearly you're not.

And you deserve to be treated like a urinal.

You're a vile POS.

I will not watch SNL cold opens denigrating and mocking Trump and just gloating.

#276 | Posted by BillJohnson

I will never understand how you can feel bad for Trumpy. He definitely doesn't feel bad for you. And Trumpy has earned any denigration he gets for all the unnecessary death and suffering he has caused.

Shame on him for being such a liar and shame on you for believing all the lies.

Eberly.

The sheer amount of anger you're posting is going to permeate into your real life.

Energy is energy. It has to go somewhere and I'm not accepting it.

It's unfortunate you're so bent out of shape over nothing.

-Energy is energy. It has to go somewhere and I'm not accepting it.

LOL

You ARE the definition of anger.

I'm just trying to keep up with you for a little bit.

Nobody wants to admit they are anger and discontent and intolerant.

But you are all 3. All day. Every day.

You just get a pass for it here.

The posters who no longer post here acknowledge but defend your rage.

You've been through some ----, obviously.

Odd. I haven't talked to those guys in months.

I though you said I was the one with anger issues.

Seems like that's just more projection.

So? You've been reviled for longer than that.

Nobody's opinion of you has changed in quite a while.

And it won't.

You'll stay the same and be revered the same.

As a POS.

It'll be 15 years I've been here next month.

Clown is the first poster I've decided to make my pet project.

I could be like chieftutmoses and make thousands of posts and attribute them to posters they don't like.

Nobody cares when Chief does that even though he does it all the time. People pretend they don't see it.

I won't enjoy the same protection Chief gets.

I'll make it a day before being banned.

#358 | Posted by eberly at 2020-11-08 03:40 PM | Reply

It's actually quite funny.

I seem to be living rent free in all those empty heads. For months now!

No hard feelings, but, I never think about you guys once I log out.

Nor do I take anything personally you anonymous posters post.

Well except my most recent run in with Boaz, who helped me refocus on what I'm posting and why. I appreciate him for it.

Just a quick scan of this thread. I really seem to be able to trigger you. By just being friendly. It's been a lot of fun.

Keep spitting out hate. It's fun to read.

Pretty typical for you.

Is there going to be more involved?

Crying to other posters isn't getting you anywhere.

It's just making you look pathetic.

Your anger at me is just making this thread more fun to read.

Didn't claim otherwise. You're bringing that up. Nobody else is.

I don't care how much you drag this place with you elsewhere.

I guarantee you I don't.

I could just plonk you again but I'm thinking that's more like ignoring a mugging and pretending I don't see it.

Not any longer.

I'm going to stay with you, Clown.
I'm going to lie, attack, insult, and troll with EQUAL if not MORE force than you have to myself and others.

Don't worry, clown. 48 hours max. I'll get tossed for nothing more that what you've been doing for years.

I have to jump off.

I'm just posting while watching the chiefs. I've got to go pick up stuff from the office cause I'm going to work from home this next week. I got exposed to someone who is positive.

... again a self-perpetuating cycle.

I don't assign you positions Eberly, I never have. I question your inane questions at other people's positions. That was my point. It detracts from substantive debate.

That's separate from your feud with Clown, but I suggest a toning down of the temperature in that regard... why? I'm more than happy to cut down an incel Rusbot, but I don't see how any of this is productive either way.

The far left rhetoric will be put on hold. Defunding the police is history. The word socialism is now a dirty word and stacking the Supreme Court is not happening.
All in all...I'm pleased."

and to think all they had to do to perform perfect regime coup was use a little fraud and utilize computer technology and inner city folks to accomplish that. At least they did not use mail bombs like two years ago

EARLY EXIT POLLS SHOW CLEAR WINNER!

By Rogers Cadenhead
***North and South American Exclusive***
***Special to the DRUDGE RETORT***

Through a variety of sources, including a former employee of the VOTER NEWS SERVICE and the embittered college girlfriend of JEFF GREENFIELD, the DRUDGE RETORT has acquired a sampling of exit polls from Tuesday's presidential election.

The polls available to the DRUDGE RETORT include 492 voters, 470 in Waltham, Massachusetts, and another 42 who voted absentee in West Hollywood, Calif.

MORE

Though many experts are predicting that exit polls may be unreliable in a race projected to be as close as this one, some of the same experts advised FOX NEWS analyst Ann Coulter to ditch the eyepatch in 1998.

[Without the distinctive patch, Coulter became indistinguishable from Laura Ingraham, Kellyanne Fitzpatrick and Barbara Olson.]

IMPACTING HARD

The results show a clear winner in today's presidential race:

1. Who did you vote for in the presidential race?

Al Gore/Joe Lieberman (Dem.): 310 (66.2 %)
George W. Bush/Dick Cheney (Rep.): 182 (41.8 %)
Ralph Nader/Winona LaDuke: 82 (12.0 %)
Pat Buchanan/Joe Conason: 3 (2.9 %)

MORE

Longtime Beltway insiders were stunned at the 30 percent margin of victory for Gore/Lieberman, the largest in a presidential race since Franklin D. Roosevelt defeated Dwight Eisenhower in 1944.

"I told myself I wasn't going to cry," Jim Robinson, founder of the online conservative coffee klatsch FREE REPUBLIC told the RETORT Thursday afternoon at 2:48 P.M. Eastern. "There are still 12 minutes before polls close in California, so I'm holding onto a gossamer-thin filament of hope."
