Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Though Trump courted Black voters - and improved his showing over 2016 - he and his allies are now trying to deny President-elect Joe Biden's victory in key battleground states by targeting ballots cast in heavily Black cities such as Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta and Milwaukee, arguing that these Democratic strongholds are hotbeds of fraud.

Admin's note: Participants in this discussion must follow the site's moderation policy. Profanity will be filtered. Abusive conduct is not allowed.

Trump and his allies have presented no evidence of fraud or widespread error in any of these cities, and courts have repeatedly declined to grant their requests to invalidate ballots. Still, the president shows no signs of backing down, prompting Black leaders, political analysts and historians to cry foul at what they described as tactics reminiscent of those used to suppress the voice of Black voters following the Civil War.

"It's as vile now as it was during Reconstruction, when Democrats believed that Republicans were illegitimate and that Black voters had no right to be voting, and they did all of these terrorist activities to block African Americans from voting," said Carol Anderson, professor of African American studies at Emory University. "It's a very narrow, slippery slope, from saying illegal votes' to illegal voters,' so this attack on Black voters is real."

I remember a popular phrase that Republicans often used when addressing racial issues broached by the other side. They called it "playing the race card off the bottom of the deck."

I can hardly think of a more appropriate way to view the open and insidious race-baiting that Trump's bogus voter fraud allegations foment amongst his rabid base - openly willing to believe any and everything that he tells them. The disenfranchisement of Blacks has a painful and storied history in this nation, it's no surprise that Trump and his minions would revive and amplify the same tactics in an attempt to overturn the results of legal voters who resoundingly repudiated him.

Good going, Donald. Now African-Americans are more convinced than ever that Republicans are racist White men.

There's never been anyone worse for this country than you.

"Now African-Americans are more convinced than ever that Republicans are racist White men."

1. They already know that, and are used to it.
2. I wouldn't limit it to Republicans either.

It's the whites who can't see racism. Not the blacks.

The NAACP has filed a lawsuit against Trump and his campaign on behalf of the black residents of the city of Detroit, citing that they are guilty of violating the Voting Rights Act:

NAACP LDF Lawsuit: Trump Violated Voting Rights Act

President Donald Trump is "openly seeking to disenfranchise Black voters," citing baseless claims of election fraud, the lawsuit argues.

The anger isn't limited to black communities.

Trump doesn't give a hoot as to what happens in the GA senate races. He's trying to get as much golf in as he can before he goes to prison.

"Trump could be hurting Republican's chances to win GA Senate seats"

Members of a fascist party never think their own fascists will turn on them.

Not understanding this is why fascism persists: There's always people too stupid to see what's really going on.

Trump Supporters in Georgia Threaten to Destroy GOP, Boycott Runoff Elections

President Donald Trump supporters protesting the outcome of the 2020 election have a new and surprising opponent: the Republican Party.

A viral video of protesters, as well as posts on social media platform Parler, indicate that Trump supporters are looking to boycott the upcoming Georgia Senate runoff elections.

So there are pissed off Trumpers in GA that won't vote in this runoff election.

Who are they pissed at? The GOP went out and got 10 million more votes for Trump than the last time.

If Voters in GA are upset enough to let the democratic party have the senate.........well, I've always had a saying...."when your opponent is making a mistake, don't interrupt them".

That line was later used in a movie.....

I already donated to Warnock and Ossoff, where do I donate to the Cult45 anti-GOP campaign? This is so delicious I can't stand it! The GOP, McTurtle, Romney-McDaniel, Cruz, Rubio, Graham and the rest of these spineless POS have been so lockstep in sucking the sweat off Dotard's sack and checking him for polyps at EVERY opportunity for fear of alienating his mouthbreathing base, to have them jump ship for the GA senate elections, thus throwing it to the Dems would be karma to the extreme! It would be even more fantastic if, while not voting, some of Dotard's brown shirt terrorists made plans to kidnap Kemp and burn down the GA capitol building, lol.

This is the intentional racist voter disqualification that Trump and his dupes are trying to pull in Wisconsin:

The largest category of ballots the Trump campaign has targeted were cast by voters who cast absentee ballots in person rather than by mail. Nearly 70,000 people cast absentee ballots in person in Dane County and another 108,000 in Milwaukee.

The campaign said that the paperwork filled out by people who voted in person did not constitute a proper application for a ballot, as required by state law.

"Wisconsin law expressly requires that absentee ballots may not be issued without receiving a written application requesting the ballot," the campaign said in a statement, indicating that "despite this clear mandatory requirement, clerks uniformly issued absentee ballots without collecting a written application" from people who voted in person during a two-week period leading up to the election.

State officials have said voters who cast absentee ballots in person sign a document to certify their vote that also constitutes an application.

Such ballots were cast in the same way across much of Wisconsin " including counties that the president won.

But the Trump campaign is seeking only a recount in the two counties where Biden performed best: He won 75 percent of the vote in Dane and 69 percent of the vote in Milwaukee.

Make sure every Trumper who'll bring up this garbage knows the truth of this race-based disenfranchisement - after the fact.
