The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has quietly removed controversial guidance from its website that pushed for schools to reopen in the fall and downplayed the transmission risks of COVID-19 to children and others.

It's almost as if the people who said reopening schools would contribute to a massive surge in covid by the end of october and would cost Trump the election were correct.

The "evidence" was never strong to begin with if you actually read it.

The majority of the studies that were used to support the position were from Europe where transmission was much much lower and, IIRC, even stated the caveat that the studies only held true under conditions of low community spread.

Conditions we never really had here in the US.

In any case, it will be nice to see the CDC acting in a science-based mode again under the Biden administration.

Republicans want schools open. They can't get their cheap wage-slaves back unless their cheap wage-slaves have daycare for the kids.
