A federal appeals court on Friday handed another loss to the Trump campaign's effort to undo President-elect Joe Biden's win in Pennsylvania, with a judge -- one of Trump's nominees -- writing that the campaign's "claims have no merit."

...What they're saying: "Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy. Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here," Trump-appointed Judge Stephanos Bibas wrote in the Third Circuit Court of Appeal's ruling....

"The Campaign never alleges that any ballot was fraudulent or cast by an illegal voter."

That's because telling lies to the press and public is just alternative facts. Telling lies to a judge in court has legal consequences.

"claims have no merit."

Much like the claimant. This has all been about marketing Trump to his Base for future considerations.

It would have been so much easier for Trumptidumped to have just ridden the horse in the direction it is heading. All his fighting only hardens the cement on his loss. This is better than and those stupid Benghazi investigations to nowhere while looking for Obama's BC.

Trump's redundancy is getting boring. A majority has already decided that he's an inkblot on society and needs to go face his fate elsewhere ~~ on his own dime.

So the plan is to have all the judges laugh him out of court and appeal to his handpicked SCOTUS to rule in favor of his dictatorship? That's some pretty nefarious thinking...

Don't count on that. Roberts doesn't like for HIS Supreme Court to be used like a political football. It'll probably get kicked back down for lack of evidence after they read the briefs.

President-elect Joe Biden's lead over Donald Trump in Wisconsin extended on Friday as Milwaukee finished their recount.

The Trump campaign had to pay $3 million for the recount in Wisconsin.

"Milwaukee County concludes its recount of the presidential election " one of two counties where Trump sought a recount in Wisconsin. The results: Biden's lead, currently at about 20,000 statewide, grew by 132 votes," Rosalind Helderman of The Washington Post reported Friday.

Edward-Isaac Dovere of The Atlantic did a quick, back-of-the-envelop economic analysis.

"With the $3 million the Trump campaign spent on recounts split between two counties, this would amount to the Trump campaign spending $11,363 per vote *added* to Biden," Dovere wrote.

This decision is interesting.

I think that Pres Trump was quite surprised at the decision. Especially since one of his judicial appointees took part in making it. Pres Trump was probably surprised (and not in a good way) that a Judge he appointed stayed loyal to the law and not to Pres Trump.

When Pres Trump called into the Pennsylvania meeting of legislators, he talked of the need for having a judge loyal to him ("listen to it properly") and not having the problem of following the law...

..."All we need is to have some judge listen to it properly without having a political opinion or having another kind of a problem, because we have everything and, by the way, the evidence is pouring in now as we speak."...

@#7 ... Roberts doesn't like for HIS Supreme Court to be used like a political football. ...

In my view, Chief Justice Roberts is trying to build a a solid Supreme Court as the leader of a branch of the United States Government.

I agree that he may be less than happy about Pres Trump trying to turn it into a political football.

Roberts is indeed concerned with his legacy.

Roberts exemplifies just how far to the right the GOP has gone in just fifteen years.

Anyone know how many MAGA hats you need to sell to make $11,363?

Like, before they started dumping them on Amazon and E-Bay for a buck?

And what will the response be when the SCOTUS declines to hear the appeal of the Trump campaign? That a court with three Trump appointees is in on the fix? That Roberts and his majority are in-American? The real fun will be in seeing which of the justices will vote to allow a case which has been ruled twice as having no merit and with no evidence presented.

After this rejection all that will be left will be to see if any state legislature dare tamper with the will of voters in their state. There will not be enough Poor Boys to provide protection from scorned voters and officers of the law, acting on the orders of the governor...

Trump is the losingest loser of all time. Nobody can lose with high-luster, 14-karat gold quality the way this loser can. He's the best. He's tremendous. He loses like nobody has ever seen before. If Ricardo Montalban hadn't already stolen all the rich Corinthian leather, Donald Trump would lose in luxurious, rich Corinthian leather.
