Here's the thinking of Republicans who plan to object Wednesday to certifying the Electoral College victory of President-elect Biden -- a band that's up to a dozen senators and at least 140 House members, backed by Vice President Pence.

The GOP Electoral College objectors who skipped interview requests
www.axios.com

...Most of the 12 Republican senators who said on Saturday they will object to certifying state Electoral College votes on Wednesday skipped invitations from news shows to appear on Sunday.

Driving the news: "State of the Union" anchor Jake Tapper said all 12 senators declined or failed to respond to an invitation to explain their objection to certification on CNN.

NPR's Lulu Garcia-Navarro also said the senators all declined invitations to appear on "Weekend Edition." ...

Spineless snowflakes. All of 'em.

Have all 12 signed "the paper" that McConnell warned them not to sign.

I don't know what "the paper" is but apparently the GOP dissenters require a signature or you're not really on board with the organized protest.

Senators have to make a decision between Trump and McConnell. Fear or loyalty.

Get your bets down.

I think you you guys may be missing something.

Ultimately, the conductor of this orchestra is a reality TV star who is known to be obsessed with being in the public eye.

I think it's all very likely a well choregraphed effort to keep the Trump name in the spotlight for as long as possible. Keep the ratings high.

Cruz and the others are just Trump's useful idiots.

I am, of course, making the assumption that Trump is not a total idiot and does realize he's lost. The alternative is that's he's far dumber than should possibly be conceivable for someone holding public office. If this were the case, he'd make Sheila Jackson Lee look like Steven Hawking.

TKNEES

So you're going with the fear of Trump option?

McConnell could make their life very difficult for splitting the Senate. Like committee appointments and such.

McConnell could also knock out the pork in bills they need for their special interest campaign donors.

He's not dumb. He has some kind of mental disorder.

How sad is it when you're the useful idiot of a useful idiot?

backed by Vice President Pence.

I'm not convinced.

I think it was convenient for Pence to give a mealy mouthed support while remaining fully in the background. When (if?) the coup fails he can have his plausible deniability in claiming he was just letting the process work and knew it wasn't going to succeed.

I hope there's a movement to expel the Congressional members who support this farce.

Beau of the Fifth Column had a good video about it on his YouTube channel.

I'll leave it you to to enlighten me on how I'm Ted Cruz's "useful idiot."

We need to send back Ted Cruz to where he came from.

Did I do that right Trumpers?

" I'll leave it you to to enlighten me on how I'm Ted Cruz's "useful idiot."

That's not what he's intimating; he's suggesting Trump is Putin's Useful Idiot.
