Seven times in the back? Where's that Metal of Freedom award from Trump?

Black lives don't matter...apparently.

4 times, with 3 misses. After fighting with the cops, at a domestic disturbance he wasn't supposed to be at, while waiting on his court date for felony sexual assault of the person who's house he's at.

You'd have to be high af to want to be a police officer and deal with a situation like that.

"You'd have to be high af to want to be a police officer and deal with a situation like that."

Then don't become a police officer. That's their job. They had no reason to shoot him seven times or even four times if they are that bad of a shot to miss from that distance.

The only people willing to do that job, are the kind of people that will shoot you in the back during those circumstances.

Did the cop have a reason to shoot him at all? forget counting 4 vs 7....did the cop have a reason to shoot him at all?

#9 | Posted by eberly at 2021-01-06 10:58 AM | Reply

He fought with them, put 1 in a headlock, and they thought he had a knife.

Let's assume the cop discharged his weapon only once and still put Mr. Blake in the hospital with same injury.

Does that change anything? IOW, is there any point in splitting hairs over how many shots were fired?

2 times but not 3

3 times but not 4

How do you determine that?

Police should not be surprised when the population starts to value blue lives the way police value black lives..... live by the sword, ect.

I don't believe that at all. There are also good, decent, brave men and women who are cops but then there are too many who shoot unarmed black men without a real reason.

You're all crazy AF if you defend the pos sexual assaulter who is there breaking the restraining order against him, who then fights physically with the police, who shrugs off getting tazed twice, defies the orders to not go to the car with guns drawn on him while holding a knife, who then reaches into the car with kids with the mother screaming don't let him take the kids... instead of the officers put into that position by that POS.

We'll just agree to disagree. If you put your brave men and women in the exact same situation, and far more often than not, you will get the exact same outcome. Only the accuracy will differ slightly.

One of my best friends, and a business partner, was Marine infantry who fought at the Battle of Khafji, when Iraq invaded Saudi Arabia that kicked off Desert Storm. After that he was briefly a small town cop in rural Colorado. He'd go back to war in a second, but he will never be a cop again. It's that bad of a job.

"Black lives don't matter...apparently."

So everything bad that happens to black people means their lives don't matter. I guess that means black lives don't matter to black people more than anyone else in America. Truth hurts regardless if you choose to try to ignore it for your cause.

There are times when cops need to be punished. This isn't one of them. Get over it. Not every instance of a bad situation is the fault of the party YOU think it is.

I don't side with the guy who got shot but I also don't think that a man who did not have a gun should have been shot in the back.

#17 | Posted by danni at 2021-01-06 02:03 PM | Reply

Danni, it doesn't matter if he had a gun. All he has to do is act that he could reach for one, and they will shoot to protect themselves. There are way to many videos of an unarmed person suddenly reach out of site and turn back firing before anyone could react, and the officer is shot. Once Blake reached out of site, he became that man.. and was then rightfully shot.

If you don't like that then advocate for people to not violently resist arrest, and reach out of site.

Otherwise 10 out of 10 times it will be deemed a good shoot.

All of this violence could have been a avoided if the police officers had simply disbelieved the rape victim, ignored her screams and allowed the victims child to leave peacefully with the accused rapist with the knife in his hand.

I saw the video....

The proper way to do this would have been when he turned his back to them and walked away without listening was to tackle and aprehend the suspect.

Shooting should always be a last resort. It wasn't at that point yet. Dude wasn't even armed.

Why? Should police/people wait to find out what the capabilities of a perpetrator are until hold a conference and take a vote on what the next steps are?
