Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz have positioned themselves as heirs to President Donald Trump's base. But their decision to embrace Trump's election challenge is fueling major blowback -- even as they remain largely unrepentant after this week's deadly riot.

"One GOP senator, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, predicted the caucus would face a reckoning over Hawley and Cruz.

"Their whole antic, if you will, is a lie. It's built on a lie and both know that," the senator said. "To the degree that perpetuating this lie helped incite the crowd, that's a responsibility that Ted and Josh sort of own, along with Donald Trump."

Yup!

Remember, Al Franken resigned cause he pretended to grab a woman's breasts. Cruz will not resign despite inciting insurrection.

Remember, both parties are the same...there are good people on both sides!

But apparently all the traitorous ones are all on one side.

I have said that politics often makes people do stupid things.

Both Sen Hawley and Sen Cruz are intelligent people. Yet neither of them thought to question whether it was a good idea to lash themselves to the Trump caravan.

Given the history of irrationality and lack of stability that makes up one Donald Trump, the decision that the two Senators made, if nothing else, shows a major flaw in their decision-making process.

They're both trumplings. What more do you need to say?

I don't think this will hurt them with their base in the slightest.

The GOP is the party of stupidity and ignorance.

All they have to do to win the general election in Missouri and Texas is accuse the Dem of being a socialist, hug a rifle, and make sure they have a nice (R) after their name on the ballot.

Cruz, Hawley and that snake McCarthy all need to be recalled from office and banned from ever holding office again. Period!

Sign the petitions to disbar them if you can.

I'm looking for others because I damned sure want to be able to sign one.

After all, when you're already the most hated man in the US Senate, what did Ted Cruz have to lose?

Both Cruz and Hawley are simply opportunists who miscalculated. The money we allow to be invested into politicians creates these monsters whose careers are more important than the nation they represent.

Your wife is still ugly, Ted.
