Kamala Harris talks about the moment the Biden ticket won: "It was very important for me to speak to the moment, and the moment includes understanding that there is a great responsibility that comes with being a first," Harris says of that evening.

This is a conscious insult on the part of Vogue, and likely Kamala, reacting to Trump's hurt fee fees Melania never made it.

Events are already being beyond brutal to the Trump family. If Trump lives long enough, he's going to prison.

I don't see the controversy involving this Vogue piece.

Probably stems from Lewzer whining last week that Flight Risk never got a Vogue cover as First Harlot.

What? People have opinions about something subjective, like photography?

The picture is what it is casual. It's not what I'd consider high fashion photography. There's a loose amateur feel to it, like a picture your friend would take of you. It's lighthearted and playful. Kamala looks to be having fun.

Maybe the goal was to present Kamala as being little more carefree, to help make her seem more personable. Less untouchable.

The comments I've read seem to be knocking the backdrop, her outfit, possible overexposure of the image.

It's art. Until the photographer gets a chance to defend their work. I'm reserving judgment.

It's hard to find any right wingers on this site anymore. Yall are really hiding from the threads about your cult's violent insurrection.

But maybe a thread about kamala on a magazine cover will be a safe space for yall.

She is pandering to African Americans. She isnt African American and most Black Americans know that.

She's probably never worn those shoes before the photo shoot.

People can tell when something isnt real and is inauthentic.

Harris is one of those things.

How are you in a position to know that anymore than I'm in a position to know that she is 100% authentic.

Neither of us know how truly authentic she is and in the absence of any real evidence she's "pandering".....you really can't make that case.

As in, those were brand new shoes?

She's been wearing converse chuck d's the entire time she's been campaigning.

Harris is one of those things.

I don't know much about Kamala. I've read that she was one tough DA. I read she saw an opportunity to advance he career and she took it. I read that she never inhaled.

But that's not enough for me to label her inauthentic.

Nor have I heard her says she's an African American. That seems to be a label the media has given her. (Just looked it up, she's never refereed to herself as African American, that was apparently started on social media. You can't fault her for what others have said.)

I am open to reading why you believe her to be inauthentic. Especially if it's fact based and not just an emotional response.

She takes full advantage of the fact alot of black Americans dont know she's not black.

She is "black", her father is a black man of Jamaican descent. Her mother is south East Asian descent and would be considered either brown or black depending on who you ask. I can agree that Kamala is not "African American", but by American standards, she's black.

I didn't hear too many people bringing up Obama's white mother as a reason he wasn't black. All the focus was on his Kenyan father.

I'd expect better from you, than harping on skin color, Boaz.

Kamala Harris wanted to go to a Black school. That's what Black folks called Howard University in the early 1980s when Harris was a teenager considering her future. Students were drawn to Howard, once called the "Black Harvard" because of its legacy. They believed in its conservative values of racial uplift and personal responsibility. A generation of post-civil-rights-movement children, whose college choices were hindered only by their grades and finances, picked Howard for a lot of reasons, but all of those reasons touched on self-identity - on how they saw themselves moving through a predominantly White world.

Harris wanted to be surrounded by Black students, Black culture and Black traditions at the crown jewel of historically Black colleges and universities. "When you're at an HBCU," Harris said in an interview last year, "and especially one with the size and with the history of Howard University - and also in the context of also being in D.C., which was known forever as being Chocolate City' - it just becomes about you understanding that there is a whole world of people who are like you. It's not just about there are a few of us who may find each other."

At Howard, Harris would be studying in the same classrooms as Toni Morrison and Zora Neale Hurston, Stokely Carmichael and Amiri Baraka, striding past the law school that educated Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall and civil rights activist Vernon Jordan.

It was where Harris could become the woman that her mother always knew her to be: unquestionably, simply, Black.

One accusation of plagiarism is all it takes, and she's inauthentic.

Do you consider Trump to be authentic, Boaz? After all, he's got many rape accusations against him. Or maybe rape isn't as serious as plagiarism.

Which black person? Boaz? Tony? WhoDaMan? I'd say Bruce, but he's been gone since he got a vacation for "sexually assaulting" Sentinel.

Besides. Most of history, white folks been telling black folks they're black. "Brown" is a very recent term being thrown into the mix of black or white. To refer to people who aren't black enough to be black but clearly aren't white.

It was in the nooner a while ago now.

Bruce suggested he'd slap Sentinel with his dong, leaving an impression on his forehead. (Paraphrasing, it was a while back, so I don't fully remember.)

Sentinel took it extremely personally and left (just returning a few days ago).

Bruce was put on vacation. I guess he crossed the line. But, he never returned from vacation. (Or is possibly using a different username.)
