Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, January 12, 2021

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, in a new op-ed said she initially thought "the Iranians" were attacking when a mostly white, pro-Trump mob descended upon the Capitol on January 6. "My first thought was that the Iranians had followed through on their threat to strike the Capitol, but a police officer took over the podium and explained that violent demonstrators had breached the entire perimeter of the Capitol and were inside," Collins wrote in the Bangor Daily News.

She is dumber than a bag of hammers.
No offense to hammers.

Don't worry, Susan. They all learned their lesson.

"She is dumber than a bag of hammers. No offense to hammers."

Sure, but this isn't evidence of it. This is her just being a filthy #$&%ing liar and a coward, which is her usual condition. Don't expect any cooperation from her going forward... ever. If you choose to do so you'll make her look like a Rhodes scholar by comparison. She only sides on what is right when it doesn't matter or to lull Democrats into a false sense of security.

I'm pretty sure that Reagan proved that the Repubs and the Iranians are political pals on the same page. So what's the difference? I'm sure the Iranians got a very pleasant kick out of watching the insurrection.

She obviously didn't get the memo on recognizing real danger versus the no so real danger that rebublicans use to scare their voters of the other side. There needs to be someone on their side to remind them not to drink the kool aid, just to serve the kool aid. Or maybe she could just come over to the reality based community and be honest with herself and her voters.

A real danger is domestic white supremacist terrorists. Even more dangerous is not wearing your seat belt in cars. For the fools that feel a need to carry firearms everywhere, they should recognize that the most likely violent danger they face is that their firearm will be used to kill them, by themselves. I'm just going by the numbers here, facts and math are way on my side.

Iranians are 10 times smarter than these in-bred morons.

Republicanland - where you're so in denial about the state of your party that you think an iranian invasion of our capital is more likely than the fascist uprising that's been happening in front of their eyes for years.

Xenophobia is still a powerful tool in the Republican toolbox.

All Susan Collins is doing is blowing the proverbial Pavlovian whistle to get all of Trump's terrorists a new conspiracy to kick around.

She should have just asked Josh Hawley who was attacking. He could have set her straight since he helped orchestrate it.

Is this Susan "Trump learned his lesson" Collins?

Putting aside the fact that Iranians wouldn't be able to fly into the U.S., I don't think her initial thought was unreasonable considering Iran promised to take revenge last Wednesday.

Multiple air traffic controllers in New York heard a chilling threat Monday in audio obtained exclusively by CBS News: "We are flying a plane into the Capitol on Wednesday. Soleimani will be avenged."

Why would the Iranians attack the Capitol to take revenge? Congress had nothing to do with the assassination, and was, in fact, working to finalize the defeat of the man who ordered it. Seems like exactly the wrong way to get revenge.

I'm guessing the radio call was another Trump follower trying to disrupt the certification of the Electoral College vote.

What the mother ----? A member of the Senate Intelligence Committee? Iranians? What a dope. Congratulations America. The land of the stupid and the home of the ignorant.

Meaning the possibility that the phoned-in Iranian threat may have been courtesy of insurrectionists?

A toady is "early 19th century: said to be a contraction of toad-eater, a charlatan's assistant who ate toads; toads were regarded as poisonous, and the assistant's survival was thought to be due to the efficacy of the charlatan's remedy".

More clearly, a toady is a "sycophant, obsequious person, creep, crawler, fawner, flatterer, flunkey, lackey, truckler, groveler, doormat, lickspittle, kowtower, minion, hanger-on, leech, puppet, stooge, spaniel, Uriah Heep; informal bootlicker, yes-man; ANTONYMS independent, one's own master

From Apple dictionary.
