Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A 12-year-old in Virginia was killed by an exploding grenade investigators believe was bought from an antique mall in North Carolina, and now authorities are warning others may have been sold and could be live. The grenades were thought to be chemically inactive Mk 2 grenades, a style used during World War II, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

RIP. I am sorry for his family. It is a sad thing that we promote violence to kids. If this was a paintbrush he'd be painting.

Isn't that why you're supposed to drill out the bottom - to make sure there isn't any explosive left?

I threw live grenades in BCT. They are destructive and loud as hell. I wouldn't want to be near one when it went off. We were protected by a concrete wall and you could hear the shrapnel pepper the other side.
