NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Trump on Wednesday acknowledged reports of impending violence pegged to the inauguration -- which include armed protests at all 50 state capitols -- urging "all Americans" to avoid acts of violence.

"In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind," the president said in a statement. "That is not what I stand for and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank You."

A senior Trump adviser told Fox News, "President Trump is asking all Americans to join with him in ensuring that there is an orderly and peaceful transition next week. President Trump is also asking that Big Tech companies join with him in this effort."

The adviser added, "This is a critical time in our nation's history and surely we can all come together to deliver this important message and not continue to play partisan politics."

Trump's plea comes as the House debates an article of impeachment against the president for inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol last week."

translation... "Don't impeach me again!"

...but not really. as he taps on his coat pocket as if to signal he has a final play.

Well, admirable call for no violence-I'm sure it is a defense against impeachment and conviction.

Still doesnt conceded, only mentions "a transition"

Whine about Twitter

I will say categorically that the best thing ------- could do to calm our country is to say Biden won and he concedes, but he will never do it.

Countdown to when he backtracks on this video?

Thread already up, sans the video.

Maybe Rogers can combine them....

"the Calamity at the Capitol"

He has such a way with words, lol.

So now he calls for working together... after lying about the election and inciting a mob on the false pretense that the Congress could and should change the outcome as voted in the states.

What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Cork that other thread was the statement issued IIRC.

BTW 1 week ago

"These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"

So-called "Big Business" needs to cripple Fox "News". And by cripple I mean decapitate. And by decapitate I mean draw, quarter, and set on fire.

Like he wrote it. This is one of those occasions where Princess Sparkle Pony says, "Daddy... you just need to stand there and read what it says and then we can go play".

How much credence can one give to a President who has serially prevaricating to his constituents?

I mean really.

Is Pres trump just trying to cover his expansive derriere at this point?

@#8 ... Still had that 'hostage' video quality to it... ...

So you noticed that also.

It reminds me of some video I saw during the Vietnam War.

It makes me wonder the level of, ummm, convincing that needed to be done in order to get Pres Trump to perform in tht manner..

imo, We are not in a good place here.

I just want to state that.

For some odd reason, I think it needs to be said.

LOL ~ nobody believes that.

Can you imagine Trump's frustration? It must be excruciating. He can't double down.

Trump Finally Asks for No More Violence in His Riots

A CYA moment if there ever was one. Only the most willfully gullible will fall for it.

Trump has a very bleak future. The SDNY will probably be first to get a shot at his butt because of the Stormy Daniels case. This will be where the constitutionality of the self pardon will be tested. Shortly there after, the case E. Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit will come light up. By then NY State and NYC will follow suit. While all of this is happening, docments (i.e. tax returns) requested by the House that were withheld during the Trump admin will be turned over and scrutinized with criminal referrals probably made to the DOJ. Finally, there is likely to be suits filed by congressional staffers because of Trump's involvement in inciting people to insurrection.

There are loads of lawsuits that I am sure I overlooked. Let's just say that there will be a TSUNAMI of lawsuits that Trump will have to deal with. There is no escape. Fleeing to aa country with no extradition treaty with the US will not help. He has property that can be seized and sold off in places that will comply with US law.

The real reason Donnie likely made the video at his lawyers request:

South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds says Trump could be criminally prosecuted for his role in the 'insurrection'

[T]he Republican, speaking by phone from his home in Pierre, as the U.S. Senate remains in recess, said he believes Trump may be liable for criminal prosecution for his role in inciting a riot to overturn the Biden's presidential election victory.

QAnon and Proud boys are taking his statement, once again, as code for them. They believe he made this statement to throw Democrats off balance. They have no intention of allowing this statement to change their plans.

True, plus they just don't care. Trump was always just a means to an end for them. A white end.

It's still Trumplandia until Jan 20. (Theoretically!)

Until then we are going to have so much violence you will be sick of violence.

Promises made promises kept!

Donald Grump told his supporters he'd pay their legal fees.

He told them he could murder someone and not lose a vote.

He sent in the military to attack peaceful protesters.

He's been egging on violence his entire presidency.

There's no way he wants less violence.

He was ecstatic when the rioters stormed the capitol building and killed that police officer.

Trump is sick.

The fact he's not behind bars yet. The fact he's still the president emboldens his kkkultists.

Trump's cult can tell the difference between the statements he means "FIGHT LIKE HELL" versus the ones he says because the lawyers are making him "be peaceful yadda yadda yadda".

Anyone can hear it in his voice, even if you're not in the cult.

Of course he does. Does he think the mob will stop with Congress? He's the top cur.
