Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, January 15, 2021

In the aftermath of last week's deadly assault on the Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump, members of Congress are expressing something once unthinkable: that some of their own colleagues may be endangering their lives. Not in a rhetorical sense, but in a direct and immediate way. There are particular concerns about some newly-elected members who have espoused extremist views, including comments supportive of the QAnon libel that accuses perceived enemies of Trump of being part of a child abusing cult.

A trio of GOP freshmen have drawn particular attention and concern from colleagues: Reps. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., Madison Cawthorne, R-S.C., and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.

Some lawmakers have suggested that Boebert, a Second Amendment advocate and past QAnon sympathizer may have deliberately revealed Speaker Nancy Pelosi's location during the attack on Twitter. Boebert also tweeted "Today is 1776" the morning of the rally.

The concerns are not limited to Democrats. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., called Boebert "culpable" in the attack in an interview with National Journal, citing her tweet about Pelosi.

New GOP slogan: If you can't beat 'em, kill em'.

A Brief History of Rep. Boebert's Ties to Extremist & Conspiracy Groups

When there's a shooting in Congress, and they blame Nancy Pelosi for the metal detectors, then maybe it will be our Reichstag Fire.

Cawthorn is, unfortunately, from NC. He took Mark Meadows's old seat if that tells you anything.

Boebert is a high school drop out.

Her husband exposed himself to a minor.

She has a long arrest record.

She has multiple failed businesses and doesn't pay her taxes.

They are electing the best and brightest.

She is quite the Trumptard.

She is the one who tweeted out the location of Nancy Pelosi to her terrorist followers after being told by secret service not to.

Seems reasonable. Now for them to erect a cage-match MMF on the floor and the last one standing wins.

If they won't pass through the metal detector then fine, don't let them enter the Congressional chambers. The other members of the House or Senate should have the right to know that none of the other members are packing.

Pre-emptive post:

Rep. Lauren Boebert @RepBoebert

Rep. Sean Maloney made false and baseless conspiracy claims about me that led to death threats and hundreds of vile phone calls and emails. His comments were extremely offensive, shameful and dangerous.

Sean Patrick Maloney @RepSeanMaloney

Um, I've never said your name in public, @RepBoebert. Never. Not once. (If you're going to be a gun nut, you probably shouldn't go off half cocked.) I'll tweet the transcript so you can see...but that might be like "a fact", so might not help you.

Read the transcript:

Sean Patrick Maloney @RepSeanMaloney

Hey @mattmauronews--sometimes it's fun to check the facts when you're, ya know, "reporting". But thanks for amplifying this insanity. (Spoiler alert...never said her name. Ever. She's nuts.) Look forward to you cleaning this up? Prolly not.

IMHO I fear they are not mistaken in their concern.

Republicans must drop their pretense of "Guns make us safer" and restructure their anchor belief to align with the acknowledgement "Guns are often used as an implicit immediate threat to life".

Nobody can feel safe in a legislative session when one faction in a vote carries the power of life and death over the opposition.

I'm glad we are shining light on nuts like Boebert.

The GOP has recruited nuts like this to run and it' worked. She's good looking and that helps.

But she's utterly unqualified to serve in the US House of Representatives.

Personally, I would not like to be in a room with a Qanon freak especially if they were armed. If she won't pas through the metal detector than she shouldn't be allowed into the Congressional chamber.

She needs to be removed in chains.

Just to keep the record honest. Beobert did NOT tweet the location of Nancy Pelosi. That claim will never stick in court.

What she DID tweet was that 'the Speaker has been removed from the Chamber'. But she tweeted this after being instructed to not tweet at all.

And as I live in her district, I want her removed as bad or worse than anybody.

Just to keep the record further honest, the timeline is: reps are notified that capitol was breached, within 1 minute beobert tweets "locked in chamber" and a minute later tweets Pelosi has left the chamber

sounds like coordination to me, and keep in mind she likely didnt know where Pelosi was being taken.

tweets in defiance of orders not to tweet

so i would not be so sure this wouldn't stick in court.

From CNN this morning: "Federal prosecutors offered the most chilling description yet of rioters who seized the Capitol last week, writing in a new court filing that the intention was "to capture and assassinate elected officials."

There is no way in hxll anyone should be carrying anything into the Capitol building other than lunch, and this looney tune needs to be disarmed and removed from office ASAP.

I don't know that the claim wouldn't stick. She was tweeting the status of the House during what now appears to have been an organized attack on Congress. She was told not to tweet. She did so. What did we tweet? The status of the House Chamber and when Speaker Pelosi was escorted from the room by security. In the end I think you will see a pretty strong argument she was involved. There is more info by the hour still.

#16 | Posted by GalaxiePete at 2021-01-15 11:59 AM | Reply

Everyone is acting like what Boebert tweeted wasn't tactical. It absolutely WAS tactical. Letting others know that she was leaving the House floor told them that she'd be on her way to a shelter location, a rational contingency that plotters would have planned for if their intent was to capture her.

Any tactical information was useful at that point, and stop for a second and think: Why in the world would Boebert be tweeting about Pelosi's location during the siege anyway? She openly loathes her and calls her and other Democrats threats to the nation, so nothing she says about Pelosi in this context is benign. It was the very definition of active tactical information, obviously helpful for those inside the Capitol on missions to capture her and others.

I expect to see Rep. Boebert charged with multiple crimes before these investigations are put to bed.

#17 | Posted by tonyroma at 2021-01-15 02:24 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Further, by tweeting that Pelosi had left the floor, Boebert communicated to those listening inside the mob not to bother coming to the floor looking for her because she was gone.

Again, this message was 100% tactical information to assist the insurrectionists, full stop.

I think, at this point, that a prior (to 1/6) connection to the plotters, to demonstrate intent, will condemn her.

Even, with just the currently known information she aided and abetted the insurrectionists.

Think of it this way, you see a woman running for her life, a few minutes later, a man with a gun asks you where she went and you (not fearing for your life mind you), say she is over there in that hiding spot.

Can the united states sue donald trump and rupert murdoch for the expenses of all this additional security that we need because of those two sociopaths?

Why should I have to pay to fund security that our nation needs because those 2 rich sociopaths lied until morons wanted to start a civil war?

She is delusional. Over stressed. She needs a break poor thing. She done got all worked up over the demons in her head.

I recommend a relaxing vacation in a warm tropical climate.

I enthusiastically recommend GITMO. Lots of healthy "intercourse" with the "specialists" down there ought to do the trick.
