Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Donald Trump has long exulted in superlatives. The first. The best. The most. The greatest. "No president has ever done what I've done," he boasts. "No president has ever even come close," he says. But as his four years in office draw to an end, there's only one title to which he can lay claim: Donald Trump is the worst president America has ever had.

I can't think of one other president who incited a rebellion against the US government. Jeff Davis was a "president" of some of the states, but I don't think that counts

before or after the prostitutes piss on him?

On a different thread, Redial had brought up Nixon as being a close second to Trump as far as the worst President ever.

Which started a discussion.

Today, the Atlantic has an article about "the worst president ever" in which it compared Trump to Nixon, Warren G. Harding, Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan.

Interesting read.

Any list of worst Presidents should include Wilson, just for his racism that would make Strom Thurmond blush.

... "No president has ever done what I've done," he boasts. "No president has ever even come close," he says. ...

That's probably one of the first truths he has said.

Of course the truth aspect may reside in the statement meaning the opposite of he intended it to mean.

Or not.

Maybe his goal was actually to try to destroy Democracy.

Erica Newland, Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Department from 2016-18

"Mr. Trump readily volunteered that his agenda was to disassemble our democracy."

What a shame for America.
Worse, millions of brainwashed sheep that voted for him again. The bizarre undeserved cult-of-Personality surrounding Trump would make Mao Zedong jealous, if he were alive to witness it.

Time to rescue America from trump's swamp. God what a hideous person and hideous family. Good riddance and better times ahead.

@#10 ... Time to rescue America from trump's swamp. ...

A former Trump administration official (head of domestic policy, or something like that) was on BloombergTV earlier this morning.

He was whining about having to wait for his turn in order to get the COVID-19 vaccine. He said, ~I have the money, I can pay for it. Why shouldn't I be able to go to the head of the line?~

If I were the host, I might have asked him why he was so concerned about getting the vaccine when Pres Trump said it was just the flu.

Haha. Are you all 4 years old? How can anyone possible not see this same exact headline and article every time a new POTUS is put in office? You can literally type in Google is the worst president ever" and get documents going back a long time to see people making the same claim. Obama was the worst. W was the worst. Clinton was the worst. Etc. I guess the only conclusion you can make if you read all of that is that every President that is put in office becomes the worst ever, lowering the bar with every new seat.

Worst President in history is putting it a bit lightly. Forgive the extreme viewpoint, but Caligula could've done a better job. He also buggered his family members.

He said, "I tested positively toward negative" when he got a COVID test, so he is also positively the best at being the worst POTUS in history, and it's not even close. Nixon, Bush 43, Wilson, Hoover, they were all losers compared to Dotard, who ran the country the same way he ran his casinos with predictable results.

I'm glad he's gone.

But 3 SCOTUS appointees, including the monumental ACB replacing RBG, was a huge, lasting success.

Wilson almost lost the election because his wife was a direct descendant of Pochahontas. She was 1/16 Powhattan. In fact, I think Virginia (maybe MD) changed its racial laws regarding those of native ancestry to accommodate Edith Wilson's heritage designating that 1/16 native is technically white so he could run. This is where everyone gets the idea that "quantum qualifies" when in fact it doesn't.

Also, all the battleships commissioned during his terms in office were named after Native Americans because Mrs. W. was left in charge of the naming.

So I am going to argue against the "degree" of racism in your claim ;-)

I don't think Trump is the worst ever but he certainly is on the podium. I would say Andrew Johnson as his failure during reconstruction (also the last president to skip the swearing in of the subsequent administration) is the worst. His support of outright racism and injustice (Jim Crow) after Lincoln reverberates to this day. Hard to compete with that infamous standing. I may also rank Buchanan (Dred Scott, etc.) ahead of Trump because he effectively led the country into civil war. Then Trump...he's not even the best at being the worst.

I kid, he's the worst president in modern history but not all time IMO.

We've had bad presidents before we've had losers before we have had idiots before but not one of them f***** around when it came to pandemics.

It looks increasingly like Donald Trump did as little as he could to combat the coronavirus pandemic thinking it would get him re-elected and only kill people in blue States.

If you've ever seen Kick-Ass 2 he's pretty much a more powerful version of the mobster uncle.

Trump is the worst by far.
Not even a close 2nd to him.

Which is absolutely amazing
after G. Dubya...

Yep. The Modern GOP, running a
Master Class in 'Dumb & Dumber'...

Just be glad they Are so dumb. If they weren't we'd all be in a world of hurt. Competent evil is worse than stupid greediness and attention whoring.

And Dubya was more evil in a conscious and premeditated way,he waged aggressive war,he was
a greater criminal. He lied,to start a major war of conquest, because he FELT LIKE IT.

Trump was never that ------ up.
