"The effort was part of Trump's pressure on the Justice Department in his final weeks in office to overturn his election loss which also included plans to fire then-acting Attorney General Jeffery Rosen with a relatively unknown Justice Department lawyer who was willing to use the department to support Trump's false claims about election fraud in Georgia, two people briefed on the matter told CNN.

The effort ultimately failed as Trump appointees in the Department of Justice refused to file the lawsuit, according to the Journal. Rosen, along with former Attorney General William Barr and former acting Solicitor General Jeffrey Wall, refused to file the Supreme Court case citing that there was no basis to challenge the election outcome and the federal government had no legal interest in whether Trump or Biden won the presidency."

Schumer calls for DOJ watchdog to probe alleged Trump effort to oust acting AG

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) called for the Justice Department's internal watchdog to investigate former President Trump over a bombshell report released Friday that said he tried to oust his former acting attorney general in a plot to overturn the election results.

"Unconscionable a Trump Justice Department leader would conspire to subvert the people's will," Schumer tweeted. "The Justice Dept Inspector General must launch an investigation into this attempted sedition now."

Trump had multiple plans for overturning the election, and he put pressure on numerous people at all levels of the federal and various state governments in an attempt to get those schemes carried out. This is what POTUS worked on for two+ months after the election instead of working for the American people. He needs to be impeached and barred from ever holding political office in this country again.

I'm sure Mr. Rosen will now be a key witness at the impeachment trial. I might take the the day he is scheduled to appear off work. This will be the most consequential and hopefully entertaining congressional business ever.

His fellow dictators around the world are now laughing at his incompetence and weakness. Putin is especially amused. Hey Donald, "you still have to pay back all that money? Don't try to hide Don, we'll find you."

I'd be more shocked if he didn't pull illegal ---- to stay in power.

He has always been one to break the law to get his way.
