David Rothkopf: It's time to give Biden's 81 million voters a chance to be heard and Biden a chance to carry out the plans he ran on, even if he has to play hardball.

A crippling pandemic would be the perfect time to legislate Medicare for All. Seems like the word "all" represents unity.

"The incoming president's plan mimics an insurance industry letter, instead of pushing a promised public option or Democratic legislation to expand Medicare."

Very long winded way to say "Get rib of the filibuster now that it's not convenient."

Definitely will come back to bite us.

This is insurrectionist talk and this author should be held liable. His print is basically calling for civil war.

Without unity, all you are doing is ensuring that whatever a political party does when they have power is undone when they don't...e.g. a Dem using executive orders on his first day in office to undo what the other party did during power. Dems cling to their entitled egos and think that only what they want matters and nothing else is good but that's not the case. Unity is the only way Dems can prove they aren't trying to turn the country into a Dictatorship and take away everyone's freedoms and is the only way Reps can get anything done in a moral and ethical manner. Without it, both parties will continue to go down the paths they are going to destroy this country because there isn't any unity to keep them in check.

Well since Mitch effectively did that anyhow... Seriously though, it is probably time to do away with it anyhow. When I was young it actually meant something because you had to stand there and actually do it. When it became a phone it in option the use became ridiculously high. They jumped over 10 times or more what they were when I was a kid.

You are a nutter. Dems cling to their entitled egos? WTF. Who tried their best to turn this country into a dictatorship just a couple weeks ago? Were you there in DC?

Do you even understand that you are talking about exactly what Trump and the GOP did for his entire term? The Obama administration was so stagnated by complete GOP resistance he turned to EOs to try and get things done. Remember - Mitch sat there and said we will oppose everything this President wants to do. And so he did including appointing a Supreme Court Judge.

Get rid of the filibuster.

He's calling to FIGHT BACK in the civil war that republicans have already declared.

Remind us again who stormed the capitol to overthrow democracy.

Just going to ask this now, less than a week into Biden's presidency:

Did anyone notice how fast all of the news media and Republicans have jumped all over the, "What's Biden's plan for all this and why isn't he done yet?" bandwagon? Dude hasn't even appointed a cabinet, was given NO transition and is discovering just how little the Trump Admin actually did...and we're seeing articles and criticism about not having timelines and fully hashed-out plans.

Must be a Democrat in the White House.

Republican "democracy":

1. When Republicans win an election, the majority is entitled to govern
2. When Republicans lose an election, the minority is entitled to prevent the winner from being able to govern

See? Easy.
