It's weird that this is Biden/Harris' fault.

Of course, you know that didn't work in 2008 when your team effed everything up... annnnnnnnddd your team was handed an economy that was working and your team made better before he effed that up too.

Trumptidumped left office in disgrace and will most likely leave life in prison or exile.

Right,

It was a joke. I'm the most liberal weirdo on here.

I'm so liberal the only radio I listen to is npr pledge drives.

I'm just parroting the nonsense I read on Breitbart comments.

Please don't send Antifa to my house to harass my family.

Unless you do it when I'm not home.

See another joke.

Yea. You've always been more of a parody account.

Do you know what feels really different about this?

The president isn't playing golf.

Feels odd... I'm just going to have to adapt.

#8 | Posted by RightisTrite at 2021-01-24 03:19 PM | Reply

Well Trump is still president in his own mind.

And dollars to donuts he's currently golfing.

(Not a joke)

Sorry LA... I'm still a little jumpy living in DC and all...I think I have PTSD.

It's weird seeing those numbers but still feeling better about things than I did last month.

It's a strange suspension post-election buzz during a national disaster.

This just proves we need to spend less on the military and more on infrastructure. Once again Americans are dying and the rescue efforts are being conducted by civilians, not the military. It's not much different than 9/11.

#12 | Posted by RightisTrite at 2021-01-24 03:29 PM | Reply

The truly terrible aspect of this is even when we hit 50,000 dead it was a national tragedy that deserved an all-hands-on-deck approach(weeks before).

That will really be Chump's legacy.

Not the white-collar crimes or draconian immigrant policies.

His failure to step-up as a leader.

I don't think when the nation was in crisis in the 19th century presidents called P.T. Barnum - and now we know why...

"This just proves we need to spend less on the military and more on infrastructure."

We already spend 5x or maybe 6x more on health care than on the military.

I'm not sure that if we spent zero on the military and diverted all those trillions to our current health care spending, it would really change change things all that much.

Because the way we spend money on health care is broken.

I totally agree but we have a for profit healthcare system. Doctors earn very high incomes. To change it, which I agree is necessary, is going to make many professions very, very angry. I'm not in agreement with them nor do I disagree with them but it is how it is and I do not really know how to change it.

"U.S. Surpasses 25 Million confirmed COVID Cases"

The actual number is probably more like 80-100 million cases.

"Doctors earn very high incomes. To change it, which I agree is necessary, is going to make many professions very, very angry. "

I suspect we could leave doctor's salaries more or less intact and still reduce health care costs by almost half, simply by adopting a single payer system.

Insurance companies never saved a life or in Eberly's case rebuilt a house after a fire. All they do is move money around. It's exactly the kind of work that's perfect for boring government bureaucrats.

Literally the only difference is, in a for-profit system, they skim some of the money they move, and give it to the shareholders.

Take Eberly for example. He would be just as good at what he does, working for the government instead of a private firm. In fact it might even increase his productivity, since he would truly just be serving his customers, and not have to worry about skimming enough money to keep his bosses a hundred times* richer than Eberly.

I'm not so sure you are right about that but were it true it would be great. However, I know this, Doctors do not earn millions of dollars in Canada nor do they in Great Britain. They are well paid but we have some doctors earning millions of dollars per year and I just don't see them giving up such sums willingly.

The stock market is a big hindrance to us having an NHS of some sort...

Peoples retirements are tangled up in that and they expect that money to be there when they retire so it could be done but it would have to be incremental.

Does anybody in here really believe Trump was advertising hydroxychloroquine for free? Come on now - I was born at night but not last night.

And Clown - I'm gonna let that jab slide. I'm just filling in for all the republicans that went dark after the election and the ones that went even darker after January 6th.

If you guys don't have someone to scold up in here you might accidentally engage in intelligent discourse.

"However, I know this, Doctors do not earn millions of dollars in Canada nor do they in Great Britain."

Those earnings aren't from their salaries though. They are from referring patients to clinics and service providers in which they hold a financial interest. Remove their ownership of the clinic and the profit motive incentive for unnecessary testing just to make doctors richer goes away.

Setting aside their incentives, you still have their ownership as a factor in their incomes.

IOW, those salaries published are skewed low because it hides their unearned income from ownership of the clinic where they work.

We have 3 clinics where I live. 2 are physician owned and the other is a non-profit that serves the uninsured although most of their business is normally insured folks.

I know doctors who truly earn $1 million plus and that's where I live (low cost of living)

"He would be just as good at what he does, working for the government instead of a private firm."

As long as I'm incentivized to be better than the other guy......I'll be better than the other guy.

but if I'm not.......I won't be better.
