The Oregon Republican party has falsely claimed in a resolution that there is "growing evidence" that the 6 January attack on the US Capitol by a pro-Trump mob was "a 'false flag' operation".

The GOP has become the party of crazy conspiracy theories totally removed from reality.
It's not a good look.

The only thing that will fix it is, Unity!
Unity with people who hate everything about liberals and Democrats.
Unity with people who did anything they could over the past four years to destroy America and pwn us.
No seriously, we're screwed.

As a Washingtonian I love the Oregon Beaches. I avoid Portland at all costs.
And most of the people their seem decent, but I've run across more than my share of nutters there. Like anywhere else you go the more rural you go the more nuts there are.
This isn't shocking to me.

The extremist get all the press in Portland... 99.99% of Portland is the same as any other American city.. full of over medicated idiots on their phones, in a hurry to an early heart attack or diabetes. We just have no sales tax and legal weed, but not much different otherwise.

Just pondering that - yes it's everywhere. Is it the isolation driving them insane?

The destruction of truth is heavily tied to the "Fair and Balanced" Fox 'News'.

The state GOP parties are the real laboratories for fascism. They are far more hard-core Cult 45 than are most of the Senate and some of the house members. This is in good old liberal Oregon, a proud member of the left coast triumvirate. The state parties are also much closer to the base of the party, which just goes to show that the base of the party has gone full on NAZI for Dotard.

They did much more than suggest it was a false flag event they said there was increasing evidence which is tantamount to saying there was a false flag event.

The more the GOP clings to made up realities, and Hail Mary Conspiracy Theories, the further down the Rabbit Hole to Loonsville they go...

"The GOP has become the party of crazy conspiracy theories totally removed from reality."
I wouldn't say "has become", more like "has been for a while". But, as usual, what one party does the other party does as well. Dems have been the party of governing an entire country based on anything but reality. So one side (Dems) passes ridiculous legislation that makes smart people go wtf and scratch their head, and then the other party (Reps) comes up with ridiculous, made up reasons why that party did it that makes smart people go wtf and scratch their heads. And, so far, there is no indication of that cycle ending anytime soon.
And all talk about the Capitol event being anything but Republican crafted ends once you see Trump lead the march to the building. Sorry, Reps can't explain that one away at all. Had Trump not actually done that, there could be wiggle room.
But the most sad part about this entire article and comment section is that so many people actually think just one side is to cause for everything, when the other side has been attacking government buildings most of the year, and having powerful people on record supporting and encouraging it. There is no explaining that away and yet people on here just act as if it never happened.
