Yeah, this kid turning state's evidence is going to ruin their day for sure.

From the cited article...

...2. Adam Fox wanted to recruit 200 people to storm the Capitol, put politicians they captured on trial for treason and execute them by hanging on live television, Garbin said....

I remember seeing that a galley with a noose was set up outside the Capitol building in Washington DC during the January 6 insurrection.

Is hanging a new thing among the right-wing extremists?

It falls into the "...should be hung for treason" clich. They've been saying it for years, but most people weren't associating with those folks.

I think the appeal to them is that it's a striking image.

I note that the so-called "trial" may be little more than a rubber stamp, as the comment I noted in #3 attributed to Mr Garbin seems to indicate that execution after the trial was a foregone conclusion.

I'll say it again, these are the self-selected people who want to solely determine the results of the elections and who governs us.

Can't you just see the White Racial Superiority when you look into his eyes?

Republicans can.

Wow, those guys were planning a major attack. It's concerning there are groups like that who have that level of weapons and a combat plan.

We're not only in the middle of a pandemic, many having gone through 9/11 and the threat of foreign terrorists, and now we have to be concerned about or own fellow citizens as homegrown terrorists?

The FBI and Justice Dept will be very, very busy. Thank God the FBI was onto these guys.

"Is hanging a new thing among the right-wing extremists?"

Makes the same statement as beheading, only less messy.

If the crazy right attempts another attack on the Capital or any other federal or state building the National Guard should fire live ammunition and kill these SOBs. They are just bullies, they get their way by force not because their ideas are better, after Jan. 6, there should be no more holding back, shoot to kill.

#3 | Posted by LampLighter

No, they just haven't been so emboldened in a long time that they are comfortable being open about lynchings.

i think they believe that hanging and firing squad are all, the only two, that's constitutionally allowed.

Uh, lynchings.

In a protest setting though that's been a left wing thing until now. People were really, really into burning and hanging effigies of Bush. It went away for 8 years but made a comeback there too.

#16 There was no effigy when they put up a scaffold and a noose, and stormed The Capitol.
They were looking for Nancy Pelosi and others. Not facsimiles of them.

Why do you keep downplaying the seriousness of the coup attempt, Sitzkrieg?
Seriously, why?
