"Three of the four scheduled to testify Tuesday before two Senate committees resigned under pressure immediately after the deadly attack, including the former head of the Capitol Police.

Former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger and former House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving will speak publicly for the first time since their resignations at the hearing, which is part of a joint investigation by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate Rules Committee.

They will be joined by former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund and Robert Contee, the acting chief of police for the Metropolitan Police Department, who sent additional officers to the scene after the rioting began.

The hearing is expected to be the first of many examinations of what happened that day, coming almost seven weeks after the attack and over one week after the Senate voted to acquit former President Donald Trump of inciting the insurrection by telling his supporters to "fight like hell" to overturn his election defeat."

I'll wager that a number of GOP members of the panel will do their best to distract and bloviate during their time speaking, so as to impede those testifying from telling stories about why the Capitol Police, the DC Police and National Guard were hindered in their work. Many will be like Barty Crouch, Jr., trying to walk out of the hearing before their names are called...

Johnson read verbatim from a report written by a sociologist or group psychology expert that was on the ground on Jan. 6th. The reported assessment was that plain clothed provocateurs were masquerading as MAGA folks, that the people marching to the capitol were all in high spirits, and that many in the crowd were tear gassed even before violence broke out (i.e., the police started the violence).

Johnson then ended his time with a question aimed at one of the Sergeant-At-Arms, asking if he regretted resigning. He replied, "Absolutely, I regret resigning."

Ron Johnson needs to be n Gitmo:
"the FBI report, which originated out of its Norfolk field office. The document included comments picked up from an online conversation calling for violence: "Be ready to fight. Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled. Get violent. Stop calling this a march, or rally, or a protest. Go there ready for war. We get our President or we die. NOTHING else will achieve this goal."

One question that was never asked:

Did Donald Trump ask the Pentagon to slow walk a request for National Guard deployment?
