"I remember seeing the face of the kindly old gentleman as he smashed through my windshield. Oh dear!"

Republicans don't care about (checks today's number) 518,992 dead from COVID-19, but they're gonna care about one dead pedestrian?

3 whole misdemeanors! Wow! So what? Community Service and a Fine? Maybe a day or two in jail?

You can guess what the charges would be if he was Democrat or not White.

Back in the day in Alabama, the Gov was being chauffeured down the road in his limo when they hit a couple of black guys. One of them was knocked 50 feet down the road, and the other came right through the windshield.

When the local Chief of PO-lice got there, he checked on the bodies, and the Gov axed' him what he was going to do about this. He said, "Well, we is goin' to charge this first boy here with breakin' and enterin', and this other one for leaving the scene of the crime."

Elitism at its finest.

Deer don't wear glasses.

An impact like that brought him to a complete halt and he knew he had hit a human before he left.

This is manslaughter likely as a result of drinking and driving.

Why isn't it murder, Tor?

That would go to state of mind, or intent. His intent was not to hit or kill the pedestrian, so it was an accident, hence manslaughter.

Ah, I see. Looks like this is Vehicular Homicide then, as in this random South Dakota case, www.mitchellrepublic.com

If it had been murder I don't think he would have gone back.

"So that means his face came through your windshield"

wouldn't that mean his DNA would be on the windshield and his face would have looked like it went through a windshield?

The glasses are just icing on the cake but they should have ample evidence his face had hit the windshield even gone through it.

and why the ---- didn't this guy get rid of the glasses?

"As a family we are very disappointed in the decision to charge Mr. Ravnsborg with only three misdemeanors, none for killing a man."

^
That's pretty much how it went down for Breonna Taylor's killers too.
I wonder what else these two incidents have in common...

" An impact like that brought him to a complete halt and he knew he had hit a human before he left."

Yes, and no doubt his first instinct was to panic and run. It took him till the next morning to get his story straight or for his alcohol content to wear off . . . take your pick.

Either way, the victim's family got screwed . . . twice!

Perhaps for the same reason Chante Jawan Mallard didn't remove Gregory Glenn Biggs from her windshield.

Tell me his position as AG didn't buy him a lot of leeway the rest of us would not have gotten.

Because he was probably under the influence and needed time to sober up and concoct a story even if it was unbelievable?
