President Joe Biden says that 50 million coronavirus vaccine shots have been administered since he took office 40 days ago, on Jan. 20. "In five weeks, America has administered the most shots of any country in the world," he said Monday, "with among the highest percentage of population fully vaccinated."

Big deal. The orange diaper sniper lost 20 million vaccine doses in far less time.

"All thanks to operation Warp Speed.
Thanks Trump."

All thanks? Nope. Operation Warp Speed without a distribution plan and the money to fund it is operation dead in its tracks.

Thanks Trump and thanks Biden.

"All thanks? Nope"

The best distribution plans on earth are useless without something to distribute.
Ergo..thanks Trump

I get my first shot tomorrow at a CVS, about 5 months since the initial partnership with HHS. I assumed I would not have access until the summer. Good times here at least.

I thanked Trump. I just didn't honor his narcissistic need, which you seem to echo, that he get "all" the credit.

I will give the Trump administration some credit. They did some things to make the vaccine approval process happen far more quickly than it would during normal times. They even invested some money ahead of time like buying 20 million vaccinations from Pfizer last summer. BUT for every good thing they did they did 2 or 3 things to sabotage.

They dismantled the apparatus for working with states. A well established system that was in place under many presidencies of both parties. In other words, the Feds do this and the States do that. It totally broke emergency response across the country. The actual rollout of vaccines under Trump was a disaster and I am sure blatantly favored certain states over others - like everything else during his presidency. Nobody knew where anything was when Biden took office. We were missing millions of shots. Now about 40 days later it is night and day different - not ideal but hugely improved.

Just goes to show what is possible when you actually drain the swamp.

Thanks to Trump's inability to organize the release of the vaccine, I got my first shot last week. Were it not for the free-for-all that is vaccine distribution in Okiehomie, I would be a few months away from a shot. I'm thankful for the shot, but no one should be thankful of the mess that is this distribution 'system'. Old folks, the poor, those in rural areas and others who might be superspreaders are not getting vaccinated, and they should be, before me...

BTW, I'm 60+ and have heart failure, so I guess that means something in this mess. Or not...

And yet when Trump left office he left the stocks empty with nothing to actually distribute because he passed up multiple opportunities to secure millions more doses.

"Before Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine was proved highly successful in clinical trials last month, the company offered the Trump administration the chance to lock in supplies beyond the 100 million doses the pharmaceutical maker agreed to sell the government as part of a $1.95 billion deal over the summer.

But the administration, according to people familiar with the talks, never made the deal, a choice that now raises questions about whether the United States allowed other countries to take its place in line."

Thanks to President Trump, the ground work was Correctly laid. Now that person whom unscrupulously was pushed into the the White House, shouldn't have any problems rolling out the vaccines. Well, it is hoped Bye-den doesn't screw it up.

Thank you President Trump.
