Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that he is lifting the state's mask mandate and increasing capacity of all businesses and facilities in the state to 100%. Abbott, a Republican, said the mandates are no longer needed due to advancements of vaccines and therapeutics to protect against COVID-19.

Texas leading the country in coronavirus fatalities one blunder at a time.

Well, it is Texas.

Texas policy is there are more important things than living.

How surprising. The two states that still have "boil water" orders weeks after the freeze because they didn't prepare for Winter.

Excuse the redundancy for those that read the nooner, but I'm reposting (edited):

Dumbass Abbott declared Texas 100% open. Variants be damned. Full speed ahead.
{poster that begins with a 'B')'s dream of 50 f**king little countries is going to keep this pandemic going and the variants and mutations rolling.

Stupid is as stupid does. No wonder Goatman loves it down there.

The single most effective mitigation is wearing a mask, and is almost free. But no, gotta show em who's boss.

Asians know how to handle a pandemic.

Happy extinction white race.

Texas is tempting fate. Note that Texas has a significantly higher infection rate than the country overall, 26.3 cases per 100,000 residents, versus 19.9 for the nation. They are also lagging behind in vaccines administered compared to the national average, 12.9% versus 16% for the nation (there are only two states with a lower inoculation rate, that's Utah and Georgia).

At least Mississippi has a slightly lower infection rate than the national rate, 19.6 cases per 100,000 residents, versus 19.9, but they lag the nation in vaccines given, only 14.4% of the state's population versus 16% for the nation, better than Texas, but still below the mean.

Also known as the "kill grandpa and grandma" policy to make sure the money flows and the irrelevant die off.

Texasss strikes again. We will never get rid of this virus with these hicks running the show.

No power or clean water? No prob! A smaller population reduces demand. Any time now your lights will come back on, thanks to your dead neighbor...

Selfish ------- are going to kill us all.

The people pushing this agenda will continue to wear their masks and avoid social gatherings so they can keep collecting their trust fund checks long after the hospitals are overrun with the new variants.

The Texas governor is doing this to take peoples mind off how badly they screwed up the power system. Somebody who got a $13,000 electric bill won't mind if nobody tells him to wear a mask any more.

I honestly wonder at times if this is the Republican plan to "save" Social Security and Medicare.

The worst affect of this decision by Abbot is that millions of Texans are involved in business with millions of people in other states so his decision jeopardizes teh people they deal with in other states too.
I think we will be talking about his desision as a Super Spreader event within 2 weeks. Hold this a******e accountable!
I'll be honest, if I were a CEO of an airline, service to Texas would stop tonight.
I'll just say this about Gov. Abbott, what a partisan weakling. He can't tell his constituents that this is a stupid ideal and some of their loved ones will die because of it. He, obviously, puts his political ambitions before the welfare of the Texas people. What a total POS!

Democrats just trying to take the attention off the fact Biden is letting in illegals with covid. Shouldn't you illogical liberals be worrying more about that?

Covid is already here stupid. In fact, thanks to the sociopathic stupidity and malice of your cult leader, covid is everywhere in the country and a half million are dead. But don't focus on that, focus on the brown people instead.

Supporting a man who let a half-million Americans die is not a good starting place to complain about COVID.

Trump's fault for not building The Wall.

Yeah, because 108 people since late January in a state with thousands of cases is really a big threat.

Jesus righties are morons.

The same cult who says the whole country is overreacting to covid is now on every thread screaming about illegals with covid.

Heh! All the libbys heads are exploding. I hope MORE states remove the mask orders. In the meantime, the libbys can all continue to stick their heads into the sand.

Yeah the people with their heads in the sand are the ones listening to scientists.

The people who really know what's going on are drinking bleach, eating hydroxychloroquine, and refusing to wear masks.

What was your old username btw? What did you say that was so embarassing you had to change it?
