eBay Stops Sales of 6 Seuss Books Going Out of Print

The continuing controversy over Dr. Seuss Enterprises announcing that it would be removing six Dr. Seuss books from print led to a massive influx of people purchasing these so-called "banned" books from secondary markets like eBay. The prices on eBay were becoming exorbitant, with collections of all six books going for upwards of $5,000. That changed late Wednesday into Thursday as eBay delisted the six books from the auction/online sales website. ... The six pulled books were And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot's Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Cat's Quizzer.

Why would eBay want to discourage sellers from taking advantage of Seuss panic on the six books the estate is taking out of print? If Fox News viewers want to buy those books at enormous markup during the short period of time when anybody actually cares, let them fork over hundreds or thousands of dollars.

No one ever protected me from all the dumb things I've acquired on eBay.

No one gave a ---- about these six books a month ago. No one will give a ---- about them a month from now.

The furor over this is Fox News giving old white people something to clench their --------- about for a few days. It's exercise.

In Green Eggs and Ham, Sam I Am unrelentingly stalked and harassed that grumpy older dude (who was simply relaxing and reading his newspaper) into eating something non-Kosher and likely spoiled.

At the end of the story, after being mentally manipulated through a bunch of twisted rhymes into accepting the fact that Sam I Am would never leave him alone, the grumpy older dude developed Stockholm Syndrome, ate the wretched fare and then proclaimed he liked the taste after all, thanking Sam I Am for all of the various forms of psychological torture he subjected him to over the preceding 40 pages.

Perhaps that book needs to be "unpublished" as well.
