Now the white men, including an off-duty police officer, want an apology from the family for calling them a "lynch mob." The case's developments highlight the canyon between perceptions in an incident that reminded many of the nation's troubling history on race relations.

Reading that I don't for one moment believe either Kita or Wood.

- A RESPONSIBLE Gun owner - or one with even half a brain - isn't searching the woods with flashlight mounted to his rifle for a missing teen. Everything about that makes zero sense.
- An officer knows exactly what value his uniform and weapon bring. He didn't forget to change - he used it.
- Putting his foot in the door? I can pretty much guarantee he did that too - but maybe he didn't.

I have seen officers lie in court. Wouldn't be the first time.
