Federal investigators are looking into a Bahamas trip Matt Gaetz allegedly took in late 2018 or early 2019 as part of an inquiry into whether the Florida representative violated sex trafficking laws, multiple sources told CBS News.

"Key figure in Matt Gaetz probe likely cooperating with federal prosecutors

"I am sure Matt Gaetz is not feeling very comfortable today," Joel Greenberg's defense attorney said.

ORLANDO, Fla. " The legal peril Rep. Matt Gaetz is facing appeared to increase sharply Thursday after a court hearing indicated that one of Gaetz's close friends, former Seminole County, Fla., tax collector Joel Greenberg, is likely cooperating with federal prosecutors."

He didn't take a trip to the Bahamas as part of a federal sex trafficking probe.

His trip to the Bahamas was likely to meet up with sex traffickers and that's what's being probed.

So his statement was that he has never paid for sex, not that he's never had sex with a prostitute, so if friends and donors want to pay for prostitutes to have sex with him, game-on! Baby Gaetz should have resigned as soon as this started breaking, he might have been able to scam himself a job on K-Street, but now, it's readily apparent that nobody's even answering his calls. Now he'll be lucky to get the job shaving Dotard's back. I can't wait until horseface Greene disavows him, then we'll really know it's over.

Greene is taking a plea deal that, sounds as though, will include officially ratting out Gaetz.

Gaetz' goose is cooked.

It's all psychological issues stemming from previous trauma, usually associated with the pedophile's own experience of being sexually abused early on.

Hence, if you haven't been sexually abused by someone of the same sex, odds are you're completely unable to empathize with anyone who would find prepubescent boys sexually attractive.

I'm sure you're already aware of this as well:

Gaetz fought revenge porn bill, saying ex-lovers can use photos as they see fit, sponsor says

When Florida legislators passed a bill aimed at preventing people from sharing sexually explicit photos of their ex-partners online, then-state Rep. Matt Gaetz cast one of just two House votes against it.

I saw that one elsewhere. Had difficulty believing it, searched for multiple sourced confirmations of it. Found them. Still have trouble believing it.

Is this one of those stories that the more that seems to be leaked, the more you just want to cleanse yourself of what you know?

And I do use the word "leaked" deliberately.

So far, and quite surprisingly, there's been little to no law enforcement official comment on all this.

#12 Rusty, my first girlfriend in college wouldn't perform -------- due to teh fact she was molested by her father. She had bipolar disorder and couldn't take the large lithium carbonate pills, so she was prescribed children's chewable Tegretol (carbamazepine). I never really saw her become manic unless she drank. Then she pulled all the stops out and wouldn't stop talking and free-associating until the wee hours of the night.

Her father died, so I drove her down to McAllen for the funeral. Her sister met me and said, "You're normal!" "Usually she brings home weirdos." Her eyes wide and dilated and licking her lips. I though she was going to jump on me then and there.

Considering that I've read about this spreading to ~politicians in Florida~ and/or ~supporters of politicians in Florida~, I'd say that law enforcement is being extra cautious before going public. If that's why, then kudos to them for doing their job.

I do note the curious lack of support for Rep Gaetz within the Republican Party. Of course, there's the usual ~let's see what the facts show~ from the "Lock her up" crowd, but I discount that (and them).

Story of how I learned the hard way to keep a secret:

One of my girl friends in high school had a close friend who was molested by her grandfather at a very young age, that lasted over years span. She confided this information to me, I can't remember why. It didn't take long for me to spread that information to a friend of mine. Luckily for her, my friend had the moral fortitude to do the right thing and tell her what I did.

Let's just say she ran me up a pole, justifiably made me feel the most guilty I've ever felt. My friend treated me a little differently from then on too. I still imagine him, think about what he would do, in some instances where I have a moral choice to make. Haven't blabbed about anything entrusted to me since.

Maybe it is the advertisers on this august site that object to being associated with certain words.

So, it seems if you want to post here, you can complain about the bleeps, or you can work around them. Both options seem to be accepted by the uber thread elf.

Hmmmm, again:

A new development occurred Thursday when an old video was unearthed of then-President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump meeting Pirozzolo as they landed in Orlando in June 2019, months after the now-infamous Bahamas trip. Trump was there to launch his 2020 presidential campaign with a large rally.

He, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Casey DeSantis were the only three guests waiting on the tarmac in Orlando that day. It's unknown who helped Pirozzolo score the unique opportunity to greet the president.

It seems these men--Greenberg, Gaetz and Pirozzolo--are all well-connected in Florida politics, and it looks like they thought Trump's presidency gave them the green light to get away with kinds of corruption.

With Mr Greenberg apparently opting to turn state witness, this will start looking very, very bad for those involved (aside from Mr Greenberg) than it has looked over the past two or three weeks.

And that is saying a lot.

Will what has been reported via "sources" hold up?

The Mueller report and the Senate report says, "Yes!."

The GOP created Matt Gaetz.

Knowing about the sexual competition Gaetz and other GQP lawmakers played in the FL state house, I now understand why he lept to the defense of Katie Hill and AOC, which seemed bizarre at the time. We know that Gaetz voted against a Florida revenge porn bill telling the bill's author that the holder of photos and videos could do whatever they wanted, which means he personally sides with Hill's ex-husband who used revenge porn to end her career. So why would Gaetz publically side with Hill? I'm fairly certain that Baby Gaetz probably thought he'd get a piece of Hill as a gesture of gratitude. I believe he's brought the sex game to DC, and bedding AOC or Katie Hill would score him major points. It would not be a stretch to think that Gaetz has hidden cameras in his office and his residence. Now I wonder who else in Congress is playing, after all he's showing other legislators naked photos and videos of his conquests. Perhaps this isn't just sick gloating, but a form of scorekeeping. He did request a blanket pardon for himself and GQP colleagues, believed by some as a way to hide his own dirty deeds, but now I strongly suspect that the rot goes deeper, and that Gaetz has infected multiple of his GQP colleagues who are currently playing the game with him. Maybe multiple of them were in need of the pardon. We know that reporting is that Greenberg and Gaetz were interested in paying one or more of the girls in their scheme to have sex with a GOP colleague. This is probably why
Gaetz and other GQP legislators were so concerned with what the FBI was doing with their phone data during the 1/6 hearings.
