I don't care how desperate they are. Snuff em. Endangered species are more important than desperate Africans. The answer is better support for poverty stricken populations and more jobs. If people want to kill rhinos for fun or profit they should be supressed with extreme prejudice,be they white, black,Asian, whatever.

I am not going to say they weren't "desperate" it is possible they were. However I tend to believe that greed is driving them. A REASONABLY sized pair of elephant tusks (100 pounds) can fetch $150k as ivory is over $1500/pound now. A LARGE male set can be over 250 pounds. Figure how far a good chunk of that goes with 3 poachers. Keep in mind simply Ivory PRODUCTS sell for over $3000/pound and intricate carvings for much more.

Don't forget there are rhino horns they are after too. Rhino horn is worth more than gold.
