Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, April 28, 2021

Federal investigators in Manhattan executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the Upper East Side apartment of Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who became President Donald J. Trump's personal lawyer, stepping up a criminal investigation into Mr. Giuliani's dealings in Ukraine, three people with knowledge of the matter said. One of the people said the investigators had seized Mr. Giuliani's electronic devices.

Trump's stooge Bill Barr blocked this very warrant to search for and seize evidence of Clown Rudy's crimes on behalf of Trump. What a difference a principled and independent Attorney General makes!

If they're looking for Rudy's cousin she moved out years ago.

Seriously though this is a BFD.

Maybe some very evil, unpatriotic men will have a comeuppance at last.

If they nail Rudy, they'll nail Trump. All before the end of this year, I think.

If there is any evidence there, Rudy is a moron. He had plenty of warning.

Well Rudy IS a moron. No one who is not a moron goes on national tv with an oil slick running down his face.

He had more than enough warning to get things out, but the hubris of this guy is massive.

"Prosecutors obtained the search warrants as part of an investigation into whether Mr. Giuliani broke lobbying laws as President Trump's personal lawyer."

Another of Trumpy's personal lawyers heading for prison?

Can't wait for the Criminal in Chief, the guy giving the orders, to be held accountable.

Blast from the past for Mr Guiliani...

...The city of New York, quite frankly, is quite tolerant of undocumented immigration.... I happen to agree with that. I think New York City should not deal with undocumented immigrants in a harsh way. I think they make a big contribution to the life of the city, and we're much better off being sensible and practical about it.

How far down he has tumbled from that time...

#5 Ish just got real, the noose is tightening, indictments before Xmas for Rudi, Stone, Bannon, and hopefully the fat, orange, traitor, Combover Quisling. I honestly think sociopaths like Ghouliani and Dotard have convinced themselves that they are untouchable and up until January 20th they were right. I wonder if the DOJ kept the NY FBI in the dark, since that was the office that leaked like a sieve to Rudi Colludi in 2016. Or maybe those agents have been reassigned to other field offices. I've noticed that Dotard has gotten screechier about election theft in the last few days calling for the MAGAts to support him, Federal judges have noticed and made comment in bail hearings. I wonder if he feels the noose tightening, gawd I hope so, and I hope he never sleeps again because of it.

Rudy will flip when presented with the instruments of his professional demise. He will give up the orange oaf prontodente, to keep his backside out of prison. Remember: there are still many folk in various federal pens put there by the former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Everyone knows that in jail Rudy will be in significant danger.

It is sad to contemplate the end of a career that had so many highs and great achievements. Noew, Rudy could become just another of Trump's waste products...

With Russia threatening the Ukraine, I doubt the DOJ will have any trouble getting all the info they need from them.

And the Feds either likely have the emails etc. from those who received them,so one can hope Rooty Tooty is charged with destruction of evidence.
But frankly, Rooty would have deleted anything while Barr was still covering for him.

Did the investigators pay you a visit yet?

#25 | Posted by johnny_hotsauce at 2021-04-28 04:34 PM | Reply

The investigation of Rudy's activities started long before Trump left the White House. It's been reported multiple times that the DOJ wanted more warrants on Rudy but Trump political appointees inside the DOJ squelched all such efforts. As noted, Rudy is being investigated, he wasn't arrested. Rudy still has a presumption of innocence until he's proven guilty in a court of law.

Why Rudy is being investigated too is no surprise - he's being investigated for doing what everyone saw him do and Rudy himself bragged about: His involvement with Ukrainian oligarchs and possible Russian agents while perhaps acting as an agent for them in his entreaties to Trump that precipitated Trump's 1st impeachment. Rudy is being investigated for violating FARA laws, again, something he did in broad daylight without a hint of subterfuge.

Career officials appear to be behind Rudy's investigation, not Biden appointees who've only been in place less than 100 days. There is no overt partisanship here whatsoever. Both Trump's and Biden's DOJ officials found sufficient reason to investigate Rudy's machinations, so in reality the investigation itself is bipartisan as it regards administrations.

#27 | Posted by Twinpac at 2021-04-28 05:03 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

BTW, there must be a mountain of evidence already in place to justify the DoJ applying for, and a judge approving, a search warrant for such a high profile criminal defense attorney, esp. one who worked for president -------.

Just a happy thought for you to ponder, especially you boaz

After only giving him 4 months to destroy any and all evidence.

A search warrant isn't about old evidence. The feds thought something around now is evidence of a crime and convinced a judge it could be found in the search.

#29 | Posted by rcade at 2021-04-28 05:35 PM | Reply

RCADE

If found, couldn't new evidence lead to old evidence to show a pattern of criminal activity among the same actors over a long period of time, barring any statutes of limitation if there are any?

Casting a little fish/big fish net, so to speak.

I think that's what some of our members might be thinking of as to "time to destroy evidence."

That would certainly be my thought as well, especially if I was worried about getting caught up in the net.

No, we're doing the opposite. You know, unlike the previous Administration, which used the AG as a personal lawyer. Hillary was investigated, what are you even talking about? If you keep looking, you might find something, lol. So many Russiapublicans upset because their 5 years of Benghazi investigations yielded nothing.

I agree with you, BOAZ.

She should be locked up (I'm not sure I understand your reference to being in chains, though).

My question is after ALL this time, why in the hell isn't she? Four years under Trump DOJ that was literally his lap dog. And STILL nothing? Are you making some vailed threat against Democrats that if Rudy is put in jail, then they all better look out because Hillary is next?

HAHA! The Right has been playing that canard for seemingly decades and yet she still roams free. Seems like this is more of an ineptitude of Republican political leadership than anything else.

What a ------- paper tiger the Republicans turned out to be. The exact criminal you want to put on trial, you finally have the power to do so and political will backing it, and ------- crickets?!

HAHAHAHA! Says more about Republicans than it does Hillary.

Own it, BOAZ. She can't be your bogey man forever.

To celebrate I'm watching borat 2 again.

What he did in that movie was more than enough grounds for an investigation.

#40 | Posted by Tor at 2021-04-28 09:57 PM | Reply

I'll admit that seeing Trump sycophants, AKA the party of "law and order", get raided by the FBI is very amusing to me. Especially Rudy Colludy.

But partisanship aside (I can't believe promoting insurrection is actually considered partisan), colluders like Rudy et al. need to be made an example of so other people (fascists) don't try to do it again in the future.

It has nothing to do with partisanship. Anyone with even the smallest ability to reason can see that.

I would expect the same if the traitors were Democrats, like Democrats have the cojenes or the incompetence to do something so blatantly ant-American.
