The family of Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot while participating in the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol, plans to sue the police department and the officer who fired the gun for at least $10 million. News of the forthcoming lawsuit, first reported by Newsweek, came more than two weeks after the Justice Department said it would not file criminal charges against the officer who killed Babbitt. The $10 million figure, Roberts said, is an estimate of financial losses that includes the value of Babbitt's "services to her husband and combined with Ashli's potential income if she would have lived."

I'm gonna laugh when they go down hard.

Personally, I'd be ashamed if my child ended up being a famous insurrectionist.

Yeah. It would be way better if your child was a drug addict with a long history of violent criminal activity. Provided they had the correct complexion.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's an undisclosed settlement.

Actually yes.

That is much better than being a fascist insurrectionist trying to overthrow democracy because you're so stupid that you fell for propaganda from putin and his con man puppet.

You're beyond idiotic if you think those two cases are remotely similar.

It's funny how all the supposed "patriots" seem to think 1/6 not a big deal. They just stop short of overtly defending or supporting it.

That's the Marines.

AF needs people who can put a moab in a manhole if needed.

Marines need guys that if ordered will go into that manhole even as the moab is coming down.

Nope.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

What astounds me is the outrage over the death of George Floyd, a violent, drug addict with a long criminal record, contrasted with the killing of an unarmed woman with no criminal record.

100% partisan.

You do understand that there is nothing that anyone at the Capitol on Jan 06th could have done to overthrow democracy, right?

Or maybe you're as dumb as Trump and his supporters.

It was one of the few good events of that day.

#31 | Posted by bored at 2021-05-02 12:24 PM | Reply

Ashli Babbitt attacked a secured position during an open riot on federal property. She got shot. She caused her own death by charging forward into that hallway.

Goerge Floyd was arrested for a non violent crime and snuffed over nine minutes by a sick cop. The two deaths are not that similar. Partisanship is not why she died. She was involved in an ongoing attack and perceived, rightly,as a threat to the life and well being of lawmakers.

George Floyd got scared and resisted slightly while being restrained and a calm unthreatened policeman, calmly squeezed out his life on film.

MB,you're full of ---- again.

So what? Attempted murder is still a felony that gets you locked up. Attempting to end democracy is still attempting to end america.

Osama bin laden should have had you as his lawyer "Your honory he didn't really bring death to america on a large scale, so what's the point in prosecuting him?"

Whenever you get tired of your pathetic twisted logic and desperate attempts to find false equivalencies, you can leave the anti american cult and become a true patriot again.

Jacob blake was trying to take his kids home and the cops created the situation.

Ashli dumbass went to DC to end democracy because her wannabe dictator con man told her to.

It's going to be funny watching the white terrorist insurrectionist cult pointing to every minor crime throughout the country for the rest of their lives saying "See that's worse than 1/6!"

You'll never find one. No one else in this country is stupid, hateful, gullible, and unpatriotic enough to do that to our country based on the lies of a con man.

You knee jerked the equivalence...

You can sue me for shooting you.. or injuring you in a car accident.

I might say that due to the circumstances of the shooting, and the car accident that both suits are stupid... But that doesn't equate a shooting to a car accident.
