Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 07, 2021

Over the last five years, it has become clear that former President Donald Trump has activated a new set of mega-donors who were not previously big spenders in national politics. Some of the donors appear to share the more extreme views of many Trump supporters, based on social media posts promoting falsehoods about election fraud or masks and vaccines. Whether they will deepen their involvement or step back, and whether their giving will extend to candidates beyond Trump, will have an outsized role in steering the future of the Republican Party and even American democracy.

And this is different from Democrat mega donors who control the media and the party how? I mean the amount of effort and time taken out of a typical Liberal's day spent on actively ignoring their own hypocrisy is mind-boggling. Maybe this is why they have the stigma that they don't like having jobs, it's because they spend so much time and effort on ignoring reality. It is wholly impossible to be able to write or even read an article like this without spending huge effort on ignoring reality. In some cases people are just not aware of something. Or things are misconstrued causing complexity in the argument. But hypocrisy like this is impossible to not see by either side. You have to try, and try hard, to do so. If spreading hate and hypocrisy is so important that it requires you to spend so much effort on ignoring reality, why claim that your party has any moral standing at all?

Yes, mega-donors from the rich influencing politicians is bad. It's bad when Reps do it and it's bad when Dems do it. And there are a LOT of rich Dems doing it. It's not even a question, it's all out in the open in public records and in many media outlets. So why smear Reps when by just typing in a few characters in Google you can find ample evidence of Dems doing it too? If it's such a problem, why demonize only one side for doing it? Seriously, why? Why make America worse like this? Why try not to fix something that is wrong and instead just fix half of it? Partisan Reps and Dems are killing the country yet somehow spin everything in their mind to convince themselves they are helping.

Probably the ground when he was dropped as a child.

I don't know they are Trump donors. They are giving to super pacs that support republicans for sure but I didn't really see where they can say it's about Trump.

It's about the GOP lost both houses and the WH and they want it back.

If it wasn't for what-aboutism you'd have nothing. In fact, that's all you do have. Nothing.

29 Fascists who feel their wealth and privilege rights are threatened by taxation of regulation of businesses. I will continue shopping at Publix because, today, it is an employee owned corporation. That bitch doesn't run it or own it. She probably owns some stock though but her Fascist values don't seem to be dictating the operation of the company.

Well when dems are in power, they help the working class and tax the mega donors. Repubs do the opposite.

Democrat media features facts. Republican media features fictions and fantasies.

Next stupid question?

Even if they have to replace democracy with fascism to get it. But you'll vote for them anyway.

The article is about donors who started contributing more to the GOP in 2015 after Trump became the Presidential candidate.

They're making a connection between Trump's candidacy and the increase in donations.

It could be a coincidence.

But. What happen in the 2020 election is irrelevant to the premise.
