Sixty-three percent of Americans now approve of Biden's overall job performance, according to a new poll, which also finds an uptick in the percentage of those who think the country is on the right track. Biden's approval rating is buoyed by his handling of the pandemic, according to the poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. The poll finds that 63 percent of U.S. adults approve of Biden's overall performance, while 36 percent disapprove.

In the AP-NORC poll, 71 percent approve of Biden's handling of the pandemic, and 27 percent disapprove. On immigration, 43 percent approve, while 54 percent disapprove.

Biden's approval is in positive territory on several other issues, including foreign policy (54 percent), health care (62 percent) and the economy (57 percent).

Americans are more evenly divided on his handling of gun control, with 48 percent voicing approval and 49 percent voicing disapproval.

The AP-NORC survey also shows an uptick in overall optimism about the country. Fifty-four percent say the United States is on the right track, higher than at any point in AP-NORC polls conducted since 2017; 44 percent think the nation is on the wrong track.

So far Joe is gittin' her done as best he can against a political opposition unwilling to give him the slightest of assists lest it harm their prospects for regaining power in the next election.

Unfortunately, life will not remain static until then and things need to get done and problems need solutions. It's great having a President who not only understands this, but ran his winning campaign based on these very issues. Somebody needs to remind the Republicans about this recent history while they're obsessed with trying to bend reality to Trump's fevered delusions.

Interesting.

That poll is a clear outlier.

Let's not be as sadly desperate as the MAGA crowd, yeah?

@#3 ... That poll is a clear outlier. ...

It does seem to be a bit on the optimistic side for Democrats.

Looking at the RCP link you provided, I note that Rassmussen has a 50% approval rating for Pres Biden.

That's better than fmr Pres Trump did for most of his term.

Going back to the AP-NORC poll, if you follow the links through the articles to the poll results, you can see this chart showing the "Country on the right track" results...

I like that chart because it shows the historical trend of the poll for this question.

It looks like the pandemic really brought down the Republican opinions of the Country's direction.

How could Diamond Joe hit such numbers?
-Maturity
-Responsibility
-Experience
-Patience
-Intelligence
-Understanding how the wheels turn in DC
-A lack of drama
-a flair for being even-tempered
-A mature, responsible staff with experience, patience, intelligence, an understanding of how the wheels turn in DC, a lack of drama and a flair for being even-tempered.

When the GOP has to complain about a lack of incendiary, insulting tweets and when a press secretary, in the midst of doing her job, deftly avoids a landmine set by a fringe media organization--Americans know that the adults have re-entered the room.

Let's pretend, for a nanosecond, that the orange oaf had been re-elected. Would ANY of what has gone on in the White House over the past four months have happened? Not on your life...

Look at the time stamp of post #1. I posted this story this morning before 10am. 3:31pm is when Rogers moved it to the front page.

That poll is a clear outlier.

Or it could be an indicator of moving sentiment, who knows?

All polls are snapshots in time, no more, no less. AP is not know for "propagandist" polling, so the numbers are indeed news ------ for TODAY. We are adults here and understand the dynamics involved. If you want to read your own anxieties onto a simple poll then go right ahead. For me, this is nothing but news, period. It shows that a majority of America - so far - approves how Joe Biden is presiding over America.

So do I.

Outlier?

Biden had 60% in another poll released Friday. Morning Consult has also had Biden at or over 60%.

That is one of the reasons I like the historical trend charts, showing the polling data over a time period.

Oh c'mon.

You bagged on MAGA morons for cherry picking polls now you're doing the same.

Just stop.

Point to other polls at the top of the range doesn't change the outlier status.

Do people here just not understand basic stats?

No I didn't. Post where I did or apologize. I did not participate in polling discussions in general, and certainly not during the election cycles.

Take your outrage and stuff it.

OK fine, you didn't. That's not exactly a good admission...

In any case, it's funny how you're getting all huffy. Don't be a Biden stooge using MAGA moron tactics and you won't have to worry about it.

Don't be an insufferable -------. I myself said not one word about the polling numbers, I only commented on the fact that a solid majority like the way Biden is presiding this nation, doing what he said he would as he ran for the office. (I posted the extended excerpt because it's behind a paywall) And I said that this is true for TODAY, which is certainly is. Saying that means that things are fluid, not stationary like your insipid whining.

"I'm just posting a poll but don't think the results are significant! It's all fluid and could be an indicator of moving sentiments! I'm just asking questions!"

Sure thing TuckerRoma.
