Barbara Comstock: Republicans must authorize an investigation of Jan. 6. Otherwise they enable Trump, feed QAnon and allow the threat of violence to continue.

It was an attempted coup and those who supported it, supported Trump who inspired it, or who participated committed treason against the United States and should suffer the consequences of being traitors to their country. The Insurrectionists were searching for the Speaker and the Vice President so they could murder them. Now Moscow Mitch is blocking the investigation he supported only a short time ago....under direct orders from Putin/Trump.

People who speak out against Trump become the target of threats from white nationalists (Nazis). As do their wives and children.

A Hitler always needs Brown Shirts.

Trump's a has been. He's a dead ender as are his followers. He's like Saddam in the spider hole.

I'm not ever one to "bothsider" but in this case, if Republicants are gutless c##### what does that make Democrats?

The weakness of the Democrats is disgusting me right now.

"if Republicants are gutless c##### what does that make Democrats?"

the people that sent Bin Laden to hell while Republicans were afraid of Pakistan.

Sane Republicans are trying to rally their cowardly leadership.
They need to throw Trump under a bus.

The Dems should help by holding hearings now, at the border so Fox News shows up.

All it takes for a hearing is:
Person man woman

I live in GOP territory (WV),
and I wouldn't say most fear him.
I WOULD say, that the politicians (GOP ones)
fear him. Or more to the point, fear his
rabid followers. I WOULD also say that most of his
followers (sadly) are as deplorable as him...

Racists, misogynists, people
upset with the way their lives
have turned out, and people upset with how
the Blue Collar jobs (sadly in this country)
have collapsed.

And while the last is understandable, do they do anything
to change their fortunes? Do they learn
new skills or shift careers? No. They
don't because of the last part of the puzzle.
They are lazy. Easier to blame another group,
to find a scapegoat, than to make the changes
necessary to change their fortunes.

Conservative people out here in WV will blame any group
first (Dems, liberals, blacks, Latinos, city folk,
Antifa, etc...) The list goes on, and on, and on,
and on (ad nauseum). But will they pick up a book
and learn a new skill. Nyet! Sad, pathetic, depressing.
And why I've decided to leave this beautiful state,
and retire elsewhere in less than a decade.

The state IS beautiful...The people however; with all of
the whining, the self-pity, and self-imposed helplessness,
are just flat out depressing and stuck. And if they do nothing
to LIFT THEMSELVES out of their situation, many are sadly
doomed. I can't speak for every Red State out there, but having
also lived in (very red) Nebraska, I am sure this is being
repeated all across the conservative parts of the country.

Most Republicans want to 'move on' from talk about the near destruction of American democracy on 1/6

Rep. Barbara Comstock:

"Many Republicans want to move on from the Jan. 6 attack. But how is that possible when the former president won't move on from the Nov. 3 election and continues to push the same incendiary lies that resulted in 61 failed lawsuits before Jan. 6, led to an insurrection and could lead to yet more violence?"

She continues:

"The harm is that the lies have metastasized and could threaten public safety again. The U.S. Capitol Police report that threats against members of Congress have increased 107 percent this year."
