Biden is genius. Defeating Trump and then making vaccination his top priority almost guarantees a mass GOP die off.

This should balance SS and reduce Medicare costs as well.

#5 | POSTED BY PHINPHAN

Let me google that for you.

"Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19. That's because experts do not yet know how long you are protected from getting sick again after recovering from COVID-19. Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible"although rare"that you could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 again. Studies have shown that vaccination provides a strong boost in protection in people who have recovered from COVID-19"

If you were born in iran you'd be just as sure about islam being the one true religion as you are currently sure that christianity is the one true religion since you were born here.

Religion is for weak minded lemmings. Especially when you simply think the dominant local religion must be the right one.

And you don't even practice it very well obviously. A christian God wouldn't care if you can quote scripture. He WOULD care about you spreading hate and voting to harm the poor and help the rich.

Because the level of immunity is around the same you would get from a single vaccine dose.

In both cases getting a booster gives a substantial improvement to immunity.

The vaccination wakes up every aspect of your immune system. Just having had COVID does not.

#44 | POSTED BY JPW

I partially take this back as it seems more complicated than usually seen for vaccines.

To Phinphan's question, one reason to get vaccinated after being infected is that it appears to significantly boost T cell immunity to SARS-CoV-2. Something vaccines typically do quite poorly on their own. (which was the reason I initially said it was untrue)

#47 | Posted by jpw at 2021-06-23 01:23 AM | Reply

JPW

That's one aspect I was alluding to.

A study recently came out that stated getting vaccinated boosts the immunity response to COVID by six times for people who have previously been infected.

Another thing I read was thatthe level of antibodies in people who got covid is proportionate to the degree of infection.

Yes, that's a given.

Here's another one of the articles about a study that found enhanced immunity from COVID for people who've been infected then get vaccinated.

This one Pfizer, specifically:

People who have had Covid and vaccine are seven times more immune'

People who are given the Pfizer vaccine after recovering from Covid are seven-times more immune, new research suggests.

A Government-funded study called PITCH suggests vaccinated people who have been previously infected are also better protected against new variants.

The level of protection offered by one dose to someone who has never had the virus is equal to a natural coronavirus infection, experts found.

But patients who had suffered from the virus before had antibody responses 6.8 times higher and T cell responses 5.9 times higher.

As you added, mRNA vaccines summon up increased immune response.

Anyone who doesn't want to get vaccinated is a fool. Imagine if we'd have idiots like this when polio and smallpox were rampant.

#53 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2021-06-23 04:15 AM | Reply

Many Republicans follow the Trump method of suppressing vaccinations. They go get them secretly then advise everyone else not to.

"Anyone who doesn't want to get vaccinated is a fool. Imagine if we'd have idiots like this when polio and smallpox were rampant."

We didn't have a political party and TV News networks then using COVID19 and vaccinations for political gain by making their membership and viewship believe that solidarity with their ideology depended upon the rejection of science.
My grandmother suffered from polio when she was a child, she lived a normal life but she limped every day of her life because of it. One leg ended up shorter than the other and she had to wear a shoe on one foot with about a 2 inch thick sole to compensate. I never heard her ever discount the value of the polio vaccine and she was a very strong woman who did not hesitate to say what she thought. I'm quite certain that if she were still alive today she would have some very cross words for the anti-vaxers and I hope I speak for her today.
The anti-vaxers are crazy people and they absolutely are endangering the lives of everyone that listens to those a******s! No excuse for intentional ignorance.
