Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 06, 2021

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday used a Nazi-era comparison in opposing the Biden administration's push to encourage all Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, calling the individuals leading those efforts "medical brown shirts." ... Greene's remarks, made in a tweet, came weeks after she visited the Holocaust Museum and apologized for previously comparing coronavirus face-mask policies to the Nazi practice of labeling Jews with Star of David badges.

"if they vote republican normally, is there a distinction?"

In my mind there is. Just as there is a difference between some extreme left-wingers and ordinary Democratic voters.

"For example, I know life-long republicans who are vaccinated.
But they aren't any less republican on election day.
Does Danni care? Do you care, Gal?"

Of course, there are many life-long Republicans who are vaccinated. Just as there are some Republicans who think the January 6th insurrection should be investigated.

I do care in that I wonder what might be learned from life-long Republicans who are vaccinated that might help me convince Republican voters in my family to get vaccinated. Is there some angle of persuasion/reason that I am missing?

My Dad is not a lifelong anything, but he is a massive Trump supporter. The only reason my Dad got vaccinated was because (his words) "I may not be able to travel without it". His girlfriend is not much into politics, but she loves to travel and they go all over Cali (even during the pandemic). The thought that he may not be able to go certain places, attend events, leave state, and more is the reason he got the shots... I dont know how to get through to other family members that refuse it. My MIL here in town still refuses. She even keeps telling other family members that the shots cause fertility issues and not to get them. I have debunked it but she spreads misinformation like salt...

My primary reason for getting the vaccine was because it was needed to ease travel restrictions and get out of COVID prison.

I gave my kids the choice as to whether or not they wanted the shot. In the beginning the didn't. But then they began to realize that they weren't going to be able to do things their friends were doing. And so they got vaccinated.

"I'm as perplexed as anybody regarding how to impact those who refuse to get vaccinated."

I know two people who had COVID, both relatives, who found the vaccine to have been more of a problem than the disease itself. In my brother's case, he was asymptomatic, but get knocked down by both shots.

If you're in a low-risk category, there is less reason to want to risk what are certain to be unpleasant side effects in an effort to fend off a disease that might be more tolerable than the vaccine. Which might be why all those Marines elected not to get it.

Concerning this tweet 95% of the media coverage deletes 95% of the tweet and does a cut and paste on three words then proceeds to put their spin on it...that's propaganda folks. And they don't even mention it's was a response to Bidens remarks about going neighborhood by neighborhood literally knocking on doors to get people vaccinated. This is the most powerful man in the world saying this and the topic has been discussed enough here to see a lot of folks opinions on the matter....if they get sick refuse them medical care...fire them if they won't get vaccinated...don't allow them to fly or attend public events...that is some brown shirt thinking right there.

So to unpack her full tweet:
"Biden pushing a vaccine that is NOT FDA approved shows covid is a political tool used to control people," she tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment."

three sentences:
1) it is approved for emergency use by the FDA
2) 'medical brown shirts' - nazi reference suggesting that the US Government's response to COVID is forcefully vaccinating people against their will
3) 'force people to be part of the human experiment' - more fear mongering

this comes on the heels of her recent tweets:

In an interview and tweets in May, Greene repeatedly used Holocaust comparisons to criticize face-mask mandates that have been enacted amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"We can look back in a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens " so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany, and this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about," Greene said in an interview with the online right-wing news outlet Real America's Voice.

Days later, she compared a supermarket's face-mask policy to the Nazi practice of labeling Jews with Star of David badges.

Here's what this article says:

"People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment."

Greene was responding to a speech earlier Tuesday in which Biden said, "Now we need to go community- by-community, neighborhood-by-neighborhood, and oft times door-to-door--literally knocking on doors--to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus."

Here's her tweet:

Marjorie Taylor Greene @mtgreenee

Biden pushing a vaccine that is NOT FDA approved shows covid is a political tool used to control people.

People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations.

You can't force people to be part of the human experiment.

If there was more behind a paywall I didn't see that.
If everything you've got in your post is in the article then that's better. Still the headline and opening statement shows the bias of the author.

There's plenty on the left that use Nazi references and made anti semitic statements and the media ignores it....that's bias. If it's wrong when one person says it then it should be wrong when anyone says it. If you look at the political affiliation of a person to decide what they said is offensive or not you're biased.

And for the clown and others trying to paint me as a MTG fan show me one statement I've made supporting her...

it's an overused derogatory term. Has been for a long time.

"Jewish space lasers ... Jews will not replace us ... brown shirts forcing you to get vaccines."

Maybe you don't understand when you claim it's all the same. That you're defending such actions.

Scooter's articles (first two, third one had a paywall) are Republicans crying about getting labeled for their words and actions.

Democrats aren't pulling up in unmarked vans and taking people to get vaccinated. (By the way. Only time in American history, that I'm aware of where unmarked vans were taking people away was during the end of the Trump administration when Trump was really ramping up his authoritarianism)

You seem to be blind by what was happening in 2020. Prior to 2020, when was the last time a state Capitol building was stormed? Michigan Tennessee and Kentucky were stormed. As well as the failed insurrection on 1/6.

Her comparison is bullshht and anti Semitic. There's no equating it to Democrats unless you're dishonest and need to normalize this type of behavior.

Exactly what I said...when democrats use it it's fine, but when republicans do then it's a problem. It's just bias on your part plain and simple, and you can't admit it or justify it so you take to hurling insults.

Your claim that her comparison is BS is just your opinion and the claim it's anti-Semitic is just wrong. Labelling people as some type of bigot is a favorite tactic of the left and the rest of the tribe jumps on the bandwagon completely clueless to the facts.

I've been labelled a Republican, Trump supporter, right winger supporting the big lie and now MTG lover yet you can't produce a single statement I've made showing support or approval for any of this. What I've done is question some opinions and I'm immediately made the enemy. You've gave up critical thinking to blindly follow an ideology and that is dangerous no matter what side you're on.

Wrong again Clown. I was the only one talking about the article....and I was using it to point out the media bias. A bias that you can't see or acknowledge because it's agreeable with your own bias.
You're the one bringing in Jan. 6, homosexual rights, killing black people, etc.etc.
You keep saying I'm a fan of MTG just because I used the article to make a point. I've asked you and the others to show any statement I've made showing support for her or any other republican and you can't.
Danni chimes in that a liar because Democrats don't ever make Nazi references so I post several examples where they have including Joe Biden comparing Ted Cruz to Joseph Goebbels. Then the truth comes out...that's not the same because it's okay when Democrats use Nazi references towards Republicans.
There was some statement that my examples were just Republicans whining...it might seem that way when there is no media outrage over the comments being made by Democrats. And that's because...of the media bias! So now we're back to my initial statement, the media show tremendous bias in what it covers and how it covers news depending on political affiliation.

Scotte,

The problem with MTG's tweet, and your support of it, is twofold: 1) the tweet implies that Biden said the govt is going to be going door-to-door 2) ordering people to get the vaccine. Neither of which is true. Any coverage of Biden's comments and MTG's tweet that don't point out that no one is going to be forced to get the vaccine and that local community and religious leaders would be the ones doing the outreach (not govt workers) is evidence of media bias. Just not the kind you are complaining about.

Perhaps a little stretch but not really. Ted Crus is, what I like to refer to as, a "Virtual Nazi." He isn't honest enough to acknowledge the fact but his actions and words are virtually the same as a Nazi. Ted Cruz is a liar, a coward (as displayed by his support of Trump after Trump insulted his wife) and just an all round piece of filth. The only reason he isn't a card carrying Nazi is because he doesn't think he would win another election if he exposed his true self but, deep down, the guy is a Nazi.

Gal, first lets be clear I never gave any support towards her statement. My point was concerning the disparate treatment of people by the press according to a person's political affiliation.
I think the media has a clear bias against the right. And from that everyone makes the leap that I'm supporting the right. Not so, I just know I can't trust the media.
I'm sure Bidens message is being distorted by the right...but you see the media is calling them out and reporting on it. Do you think the media was quick to call out the left for distortions the make on Republican policies...you know they didn't instead they amplified it.
The clip I saw was of Biden saying WE will be going neighborhood by neighborhood knocking on doors...literally knocking on every door...
He didn't say who the we was.

And Danni like many others see nothing wrong with using Nazi references towards the right but find it offensive if someone on the right was to do the same thing. And now anti-semitism is immediately added to the statements coming from the right.
I really don't understand that kind of thinking but then I don't judge people I judge actions.

Not directly.

But you've done your best to lie, make excuses, and blame Biden.

You're a failure.

Did no such thing. You're just offended by anyone who deviates from your limited viewpoints. I see you still can't understand the point I was making. Like I said before you're a child..

And since you threw in that lie comment as others have and I challenged them to show me where I will give you the same option....Show me.

"I think the media has a clear bias against the right."

That's because truth has a clear bias against the right.

Personally, I've only ever seen demonstrators from one side actually carrying Nazi flags.
Sure, not all Pubs are Nazis,
but all Nazis are Pubs.
And the rest are Nazi supporters.

And since you threw in that lie comment as others have and I challenged them to show me where

the media coverage deletes 95% of the tweet and does a cut and paste on three words then proceeds to put their spin on it...that's propaganda folks.

You claim the media is putting their spin on it. That's a lie. They directly quoted her.

Then, you defend what she wrote.

"they don't even mention it's was a response to Bidens remarks about going neighborhood by neighborhood literally knocking on doors to get people vaccinated. This is the most powerful man in the world saying this ... "

You're really this stupid.

It's fun kicking you around.
