President Joe Biden on Friday fired Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul after he refused to submit his resignation as the President had requested, a White House official told CNN. "Since taking office, Commissioner Saul has undermined and politicized Social Security disability benefits, terminated the agency's telework policy that was utilized by up to 25 percent of the agency's workforce, not repaired SSA's relationships with relevant Federal employee unions including in the context of COVID-19 workplace safety planning, reduced due process protections for benefits appeals hearings, and taken other actions that run contrary to the mission of the agency and the President's policy agenda," the White House official said.

Can't do it all at once OWS - the Federal Government is MASSIVE.

Looks like Saul got toppled from his high horse. He says he will not leave. I'll wager his ID badge has been shut off and he will not be able to get into his office building come Monday. If he does linger, hand will be laid upon him and he will get to experience the bum's rush ...

Besides, by waiting Biden can now cite the recent Supreme Court decision, which basically gives him the authority to remove people appointed to positions like this, if someone challenges his right to fire someone before their normal term of office expires.

Should have demoted this sucker to some mindless mid mgmt position and demand his presence in the Little Rock, Arkansas office.
No remote work.

"Thank you President Biden. NOw get busy and rid us of Dejoy. What a piece of filth he is."

If it was Biden's druthers, DeJoy would have been on his top ten list to go. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The postal service has its own Board of Governors who do the hiring and firing. All Biden can do is submit his choice of a replacement nominee to the Senate for approval . . . which he has already done. In fact, I seem to recall that Biden has moved to replace several members of the Board of Governors that were Trump nominees and DeJoy supporters.

The GOP won't give Biden's nominee a hearing. That's where we should be pointing the finger of shame.

Although if I were President Biden I think I'd bypass the Senate and find ways to make DeJoy's life so miserable that he'd resign.

Hey Andrew Saul,

(Now I suppose he will ask for a recount?)

Good. Overdue. Protect what the working class has paid into all their adult lives. The rewards are meagre enough...
