Eight months after he lost convincingly to President Biden, Trump and his followers are studiously maintaining an alternative reality -- and having remarkable success keeping the fiction alive.

The Big Lie is the best lie. He may have had to have Melania read that book on his nightstand to him, but he did get the gist of it.

Trump's exploitation of dumb has been remarkable.

NOT successful. Exploitation never ends in success.

Hopefully it will end in Fat Donnie Fail swinging from a rope. What a pathetic loser.

At the siren, all lies will be legal for 4 years...

Given the average intellect of Trump's followers,
and the level of their brainwashing (in many cases
for decades) due to rightwing spin factories like
Faux News, this is really not surprising...

What is absolutely terrifying, is that Trump just
won the CPAC poll overwhelmingly, on who should be
the GOP candidate in 2024...

If this nightmare is again allowed to take over America,
I think I will be OVER America, and it will be time to
leave...

Well, let's face it, hate and love are at war, and honestly I see it as evenly matched combat. Racism has always been, at least for my lifetime, the basic fuel of the Republican Party, and that definitely doesn't seem about to change. If prominent members of the Republican Party like Mitt don't leave and form their own independent party, they will be, in the end, the helpers of another insurrection.

Trump didn't invent selling stupidity to the stupid. That he's so successful at it - in spite of his bored third-act-in-the-lounge affect - tells you a lot about his audience.

#8 His audience has the collective IQ of a low watt light bulb.... just look at what Honey BoBo said at C-CRAP last week...

"We're here to tell government we don't want your benefits. We don't want your welfare," she said.

This after she lined up for $233,000 of PPP money for her food poisoning restaurant.

She is counting on the GOP voters being too stupid to see the hypocrisy they engage in every single day.

#9 it's not hypocrisy in their minds.

Like every glaring inconsistency in their views they have rationalizations for that too.

She was simply taking back HER tax money.

#9 Her restaurant didn't get the loan, a similarly named one did.

The Dems should allow people to refuse benefits and then publish the number who did. The GOP can put up or shut up.

Freedum.

I think Trump used Russian mob money to employ high powered sorceress to put spells on half the country.
I would rather believe in witchcraft than think Americans can be that dumb as to belive the obvious B.S. coming out of Trump.

It might make you feel better to disparage the Trump supporters as dumb and bigots, and it may be true in some cases, but the wannabe dictator managed to get 74 million votes. That would have won him the white house in any election prior to 2020, and he still has a grip on the party formerly known as Republican.

It's time to start thinking strategically about 2022 and make sure the majority in both houses stays Democrat. Get people registered and registered voters to show up and vote.

And in districts where a Republican is going to win go vote in the Republican primary to stop the Trump carpetbaggers who are looking to displace more reasonable Republicans.

It has been so successful that Brazil's Pres Bolsonaro is trying the same tactics...

Taking Trump's cue, Bolsonaro clouds vote with fraud claims
www.sacbee.com

...Brazil's presidential election is 15 months away, yet barely a day passes without President Jair Bolsonaro raising the specter of fraud and warning that he will be entitled to reject the results unless Congress overhauls the voting system.

He has mentioned potential vote fraud more than 20 times in the past two months and even floated the idea of canceling the election altogether.

"I don't mind handing over the government next year, to whomever it is, but with an honest vote, not with fraud," Bolsonaro told supporters July 1 outside the presidential residence. Later that day, he was harping on the issue again. "They say I don't have proof of fraud. You don't have proof that there's no fraud either!"...

Sound familiar?

"Racism has always been, at least for my lifetime, the basic fuel of the Republican Party, and that definitely doesn't seem about to change."

Not all Republicans are racist, but all Republicans decided racism isn't a deal breaker.
